OK, you asked for a story .....

Waaay back-in-the-day, on the farm, we had an ice house. In the dead of winter, we (my father & grandfather) would take hand saws and cut blocks of ice out of the pond. The blocks were loaded on a sled, drawn by a team of horses, to the ice house. I got to stay on the horse where it was warm.

At the ice house the blocks of ice were stacked with a layer of sawdust between each layer.

The lower part was called the fruit cellar, which would be mostly underground and would stay cool for the most of the coming summer.

Darn, just thinking about all that work ...... calls for a nap

ZZZZZZZ

I like you because you keep me honest.

This website does state to avoid political discussion but I will bring up a non-binding action plan introduced by the United Nations in 1992. Technically it isn't political but it is called Agenda 21. Basically, some feel that it is out to “abolish golf courses, grazing pastures and paved roads,” in the name of creating a “one-world order.”

I notice you are from the Bay area and the last time I read, a lot of landlords require renters to make $100,000+/year just to be considered. I will make an assumption that you and your city depend on the Technology sector to sustain your city's impressive economic indicators.

But back to the program, the bring-a-trailer link has some good commentary. I would say collector car valuation is linked the state of the economy but no one has a crystal ball. It is a complex forecast.

I am probably hanging out with the wrong people but I remember last year watching a movie on TV that was about 10 years old. A old surface rusted AE86 was part of the plot line. I admired the car and suggested I'd like to buy one, one day. My friend I'm with has the nerve to tell me it a piece of shit. That worried me a bit.

While I am at it, the stench that is literally out there doesn't add up.

It isn't 100 percent but the latest brain science research from years ago in my neighborhood suggests those that communicate with cellphones have higher levels of anxiety. This is confirmed by increased activity in supposed "fear centers" founded by MRI brain imagery in teenagers.

I am certain guys buy collector cars that represent their manhood for one main reason. Confidence.

It is hard to be confident knowing the stench literally is out there.

Thanks again to all - especially ultramaroon with his "shut your whore mouth" response. This truly made me laugh out loud!

Welcome to our gang!

You will find that what a thread starts out as ...... usually doesn't end on that topic.

Yep, although ol @Ultramaroon sometimes has a potty mouth, he usually has informative input .....

Owning a space (garage or otherwise) is a cost. There is no way around it. Whether you are going to use it to store a vehicle or not is irrelevant. The fact is that a house with a 1 car garage is cheaper than the exact same house with a 2 car garage.

It's not just up front costs either. Sealing your garage / driveway? Now that there is more space it costs more. "But I was going to use that space one way or another" simply means you were already going to absorb the cost, not that the cost = $0.
