Great, thanks Mike (and Dai) What that means to me, before I would get the RS pulley: - evaluate options for a small trailer built to tow spare wheels and enough cans of E85 to track (with my frs), and a tune that can also handle 110 leaded - find out upgrade paths for transmission - evaluate clutch before upgrades - evaluate gearing - evaluate flex fuel options - evaluate injectors Time for more private lessons from CSG |

I think in this case, we'd be using the Flex Fuel as a safety measure against varying ethanol content of E85, rather than with the intention of mixing it with pump gas.
I agree with Dai; you can have a 110 leaded calibration on map 2. Running the flex fuel map, inadvertently, with 110 leaded will just result in the flex fuel map not seeing any ethanol and assuming it's just normal gasoline (aka safe). |

Even better, I don't have to deal with flex fuel and I can use 93 oct map with lower redline if track doesn't carry 110 oct, or separate map for 110oct. I believe that most tracks I run carry 110 oct. Thanks Mike and Dai |

Thanks again bud, @CounterSpace Garage and @DeliciousTuning cleared the way forward, details in my build thread. Hello RS and Delicious flex fuel kit for E85 or 100 or 93 octane fuel, new injectors and fuel pump. Probably goodbye stock transmission, hopefully because I found a better solution before I had a chance to blow it up Last edited by dp1; 12-22-2016 at 09:53 PM. |

I have these PAR Engineering gears in a transmission just sitting in my garage right now. Debating on if I should put it in soon or see if something happens. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What makes the RS pulley so much expensive than the HBP? It looks like it comes with a new bracket, but I was surprised see that it was 3x the cost the HBP.

Maybe your paying for the time it look for them to trial and error R&D'ing the development to get the kit right.

Makes sense I guess. There's probably not a ton of profit in making the part compared to the R&D time that goes into it, and definitely appreciate that they offer a C38 specific pulley for bigger power numbers, as I'd like to get there someday.
I've been leaning towards the JRSC C38 kit over the Edelbrock kit. Hoping to get some more advice before I take the plunge. Right now the car has stock header/cats and an Invidia N1 catback. I'd like to leave the cats intact for as long as possible as I build the car. I'd like to shoot for building the powertrain in 3 stages: Step 1. Base supercharger kit w/ CARB tune (~280 whp according to JRSC) Step 2. Mods that can bump me up to ~320-330 whp (so I don't have to build the engine). I'm OK with upgrading the clutch if necessary Step 3. Build the motor and push it to 400+ whp Questions 1. To get to Step 2, what would be the best choice of mods? 2. Can I do a flex fuel kit with the base SC kit with no other supporting mods (like injectors/fuel pump)? I know I'd need a new tune, obviously. 3. If I went with the standard HBP (not the RS pulley) and a C38, it sounds like (from my reading of the forums) that I would need better fuel (93 or E85). In conjunction with this, I believe I would also need bigger injectors/fuel pump. Is this correct? What power level would this put me at, and would I still be at a safe power level for the stock internals (~330 whp or less?) 4. I've never built an engine before, and I'm not going to that extreme until a few years from now... but ballpark figures here... how much should I expect to pay to build the engine to hold ~400 whp? I got a quote from a local shop for $8800 installed, but that was for a full race engine - I am sure there are cheaper options out there, but for now I'm just trying to get an idea for what I'm getting myself into . |

Hey thank you for replying! Just in case that falls through... what other options do i have? I cleaned the maf and replaced my pre-converter gaskets and my air filter but it still has a rough idle problem and also a very shitty light throttle response. Thank you for your help...
