I'm 300+ lbs and I didn't think i would even fit in the seat let alone comfortably. I had a little back discomfort the first night I drove it 100+ miles home from the dealer but I ended up adjusting the seating position to a more reclined position and moved the steering wheel back a bit and its fine.

just chiming in, Im 6'1'' 200lbs and I had to do the same thing, a bit of lean back + scoot up one click upped the comfort level noticeably. Havent driven for more than 2hrs straight though.

I agree with velocity, after the first days, my back adjusted to the seat. I am not a doctor, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express.

I've discussed this in another thread, but I had the same problem, and the bolsters were digging on my lats. I took it to an upholsterer and he added lumbar support, reinforced the lumbar stiffness, and replaced some hard foam with memory foam. Paid about $250, fits perfect for long drives now. FYI, I have a fractured spine L-1. These seats are made for the average person with no back pain. When the upholster took the seat apart, there is zero lumbar support, it just gives.

Only issue now is it looks like my seat is two months or three months pregnant! You. Ant really notice it until you compare the two, and it is reversible.

+1. I was uncomfortable at first until I reclined the seat back a few clicks, then it was perfect. I think I'm just used to setting my seat for a higher seating position, the lower seat requires a more reclined position to be comfortable.

Interesting. Most people are talking about pain for the first few hundred miles. I've gone over a thousand and have had back problems in the past. If this isn't resolved this will be my next course of action.

I thought I was the only one. What makes it worse? Switching between this car, my WRX, and my GF's Mini. Ugh. My back hates me some days. Others I'm fine.

Nice. Thanks for this post. This is really helpful for those people that might not adjust as well as other, or that might find this unacceptable to them.

I have the same problem when I first got my WRX years ago. I used some over sized zip tides, add a piece of foam, adjusted the zip tide to have more support (I needed more shoulder support) and no more back pain.

My upholsterer is in Kirkland, WA and he also said he would do adjustments free of charge! O the side bolsters he shaved off about an inch of hard foam and replaced it with memory foam so that it appears the same, but is much more comfortable. Only downside, is that the bolsters aren't as bolster-y. Before the adjustment, I could barely drive half an hour. Other day I'd drove it for three hours, total comfort!

Seats are perfect for me once I got them properly positioned. I drove 340 miles home immediately after delivery. Of course I rode about 300 miles of mostly backroads on my ZX10R on Sunday and 12 Miles of off road mountain biking yesterday thus I may not be the best judge of seat comfort

Interesting. Maybe its because of my height (I'm 5'7" on a good day) or because I lucked out and got them "just right" but I've found them extremely comfortable. I drove 400 miles in one day, with two stops, and no issues.

yeah everyone is going to fit them slightly different, my problem is up higher and I was lucky they support me well there, otherwise I would be having some adjustments made also.

Same here, I was a little scared the first couple hundred miles with the lower back pain but it completely went away. I did a 200 mile drive on Sunday with no issues at all. I do wish it had at least some level of lumbar support, it's very good in my Forester XT (actually has a lumbar lever for the driver seat).
