This last weekend i was racing, and was just checking around the SC (it get's spitty out the vent when on the road course) and i noticed the belt had walked back 1 notch again.

I figure there must be some slight alignment issue, but i dont know what on earth a guy can adjust to make this stop happening. Any ideas?

This only happens on the crank pulley and the water pump pulley.

Hi and welcome to the club.

If you are completely sure everything is aligned, then and only then this apply.

At first I tough it was due to down shifting, but isn't. Is due to up shift and the rapid deceleration on engine and sc speed (the tensioner isn't desing to work both ways). So know you now what's going on, if need to know how to fix it, pm.

And yes, i'd love to know how to fix it - can't you post it for all to see?

While I've only had this issue once, I'm curious as to your fix

Safely, I'd say 275-290whp

For Reference - I'm running stock pulley, Full Headerback exhaust and stock fuel system.

On 91 I maxed out at 275whp and 199tq.

I also have a smaller pulley (can't remember specifically, just one step smaller) but I ran out of octane on 91 to gain any more power.

Also - I did shred my stock clutch when i was running the stock Perrin tune with the SC, so prepare to replace that with an upgraded unit.

How long did your clutch last? 25k on mine and still holding fine with the smaller pulley

I could feel it slipping on the Dyno when i got 275whp - i replaced it a few weeks later and it was just clutch dust city in the bell housing.

I had about 11k on it then. But, I have been AutoX'ing and Road Course-ing my car since day 1.

Hey guys, looking at getting the vortech kit myself. I bought my car with the Perrin inlet hose already installed. Still has factory air box and everything. There was mention of the vortech kit needing to mate to the OEM inlet tube (I think this is the snorkel?)

Is this true, do I need to buy an OEM inlet hose, or will it mate up with the Perrin hose? The Perrin hose fits snugly over the connection to the stock air box if that is worth anything

Nothing is shared with the stock intake.

No. The Vortech kit comes with it's own Air box and doesn't require any stock parts for the airbox.

Thanks! Did you install yourself? I'm not very proficient at working on cars (haven't done anything beyond replacing rotors and pads). Would you recommend trying to install myself or getting a pro to do it?

Yep. Did it in my garage over a weekend. But, then again I also:
Replaced stock clutch
Replaced Radiator with bigger one
Replaced all radiator hoses
Installed an oil cooler
Installed catch cans

All at the same time, so it definitely took me longer that just the SC. I HIGHLY recommend an oil cooler if you do this.

But, overall It's really not much more than nuts and bolts. The hardest thing is routing all the plumbing for the Intercooler, just getting everything to sit in the correct place.
