I will say though you have a point with the Z06 being a bullseye kind of car. You'll get all kinds of attention that you may not want. I've actually found my BRZ to be this way. Everyone I see thinks it's some kind of Vette-killer. I kinda have to shrug and be like, "Uh, well..."

And Corvettes ARE creaky and cheap on the inside.

I WOULD like to know where this guy found a C606 for cheaper than a BRZ.
I see "comfy" as more than just how the seat feels. The air/heat vents are poorly placed, Much of the ergo is set up for track and the overall space is just not as user friendly.

Sure, but what's the major demographic for Vettes?

That's the final word on it, imo. lol

Vettes are kind of weird to me. They're universally liked, even by people who don't 100% love them (like me). They've got an "old man" reputation to them, but they're still a lot of kids' Dream Car. They represent America in all kinds of different ways, good and bad, all at the same time.

Corvettes transcend.

I do not like them. Not so much for performance but for their whole overall look. There was a brief period in the 60s where the split window Stingray looked good (to me) and that was about it.

The "old man" reputation is earned because that is all that can usually afford them new.

I never buy that. If you can afford a new Vette you can afford a bunch of other stuff.

To me, it goes back to it being a lot of kids' Dream Car. You grow up and decide you're gonna buy the car that you had that poster of on your wall way back when.

And they continue to be fans of the car because GM caters to them; otherwise, we would have seen a mid-engine DOHC car ages ago.

Oh no doubt but kids also have posters of other cars that they can never afford. These just happen to meet the dream car that is attainable criteria.

But I'll also believe it when I see it. GM's made a bunch of cool Vette concepts before but never brought them to market. There's been rumors of a ME Vette for ever.

I like the C7, but I think for similar money I would be more into a base Cayman.

? Around here it's hard to tell you are on a BRZ/86 forum sometimes. Why would I choose an aging corvette over a new 86 for a daily driver.

Well, if they can drive it without complaining about their sore back or their knee that aches when it rains or their hip that's been acting up ever since they got kicked by a horse back in 1929, then I'm sold that it's comfortable to ride in.

1963, only. A personal favorite of mine. The C7 concept had a split rear window, but that didn't make it to production.
