You got the car of your namesake I assume.

How do you like it, if I may ask?

Metal rattles under the hood, the cricket thing, throw bearing melted, runs like a tractor, has no power on the highway, people with legs can't sit in the back seat, rear tire last about a month, body dents if you breath on it and a whole host of other annoying things ... but I absolutely love it. 8/10. Mine has been beaten lots and has a pile of mileage on it and I am looking for my next whip right now. I'm going to miss carving through the twisties in it.

Actually, no. As much praise as the car gets in magazines and anything you read online, it's real life expectations were a little disheartening.

1) Size. It's smaller. I'm a tall guy and I always fit in a Camaro. This one was pushing it with the move to the Alpha chasis.

2) Blind spots. Holy crap, it's bad, if not worse than the last gen.

3) Tons of nice features, some I can live without on the 2SS. You're in Corvette territory just about with the price on these things.

4) DI and high compression. It's like the FR-S all over again. Your dream of supercharging and turbocharging is limited without some E85 and some damn good tuning.

Positives? Amazing track car. If I were buying this purely for the track, I'd be in real good shape. It's a monster there. Rougher ride than most cars, but not impossible. Chevy tuned this thing just right to be a road course car.

What car am I actually looking at? 2017 Mustang GT Premium in Lightning Blue.

Much more of a practical on the street driven car. The 5.0 Coyote uses PI so tuning is a breeze and the block can handle some serious turbos and superchargers. Rear end just needs work for the wheel hop. Stock for stock, the Camaro wins. Modded Mustang GT vs Camaro SS, even modded, much closer. I also approve of the look of the Mustang because I have to look for badge placement on the new Camaro to recognize if it's a Gen5 or Gen6.

Just my two cents. Both cars will throw you back in your seat, more than any car I've driven in years. It's amazing how these cars have gone from drag racers to sport coupes.

I had a lot of similar thoughts when I sat in the 6th gen Camaro at a recent auto show. Outward visibility was poor and the car felt cramped on the inside given its outer dimensions. I'm also not a huge fan of the styling. I can see why you'd go with the 2017 Mustang GT, despite your user name

The pony car that gets closest to hitting all the marks for me is the GT350R, but for some reason I don't like how the engine sounds.

Guess you should ask the admin to rename your account to 2017 Mustang GT.

Seriously though, the 2017 Mustang GT is a great looking car; in my personal opinion, it looks better than the 2016 Camaro.

With that being said, I'd love to drive both of them, preferably around a track.

After 3 years, still love my little 2+2.

-Still lighter than anything in its' class.

-Better controls (in totality) than anything under $60k

-Better handling than anything in it's class.

-Better looking than anything new under $60k

-Emergency back seat has done it's job in a pinch, and gives the car enough practical cargo space to make it a DD.

-Inexpensive @$26k to play with and not worry about damaging. Try that with a Porsche, BMW, Lotus.

-Aftermarket is insane! Anything I wanted to improve I either did or can for not a lot of money, at my own pace. Great designers, shops, and vendors.

-Holding its' value ahead of mfg est. deprecation. Mfg estimated $16.6k, KBB value $17.8 @27k miles.

-Fun community surrounding the car.

My FRS is an automatic. It is hard to suck in a strait line when all you do is press the gas pedal to the floor. My reaction time was not that bad. The tercel is completely stock. It is my brother-in-laws and is a 90's tercel red hawk. strait line on a back road for about 1/8 mile and he took me by 1/2 car length. My FRS has 1200 miles on the clock and his car has 55,000.

I'll bet your b-i-l anything he wants...

BTW, here are the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times for a 95 tercel, the fastest for any tercel...

1995 Toyota Tercel DX Compare Car 0-60 mph 11.1 | Quarter mile 18.2

I'll have finished the 1/8th before he gets to 60...
