This is not a simple little project where some basic skills can be learned as you go. There are teams of guys with decades of experience that can struggle with some of the aspects of this type of swap.
Dreams are not "plans" no matter how you rationalize what you are doing.
I did my first swap when I was 15 years old with my father we did a full engine tranny swap in my s2k and I did most of the work, he just did the real heavy lifting your crazy if you think he can't learn along the way. BTW have had my s2k for 8 years before I wanted something new

Ya if you say so.
You apparently did not read everything I wrote. I clearly stated this type of swap and that I myself did a swap at a young age.
Go read through some of the threads on the swap he is talking about that were done by experienced people with fully equipped shops and then come back and tell me I am crazy.
I also get the distinct impression that he would be on his own with this. Not sure who he would "learn along the way" from.

What does having your car for 8 years have to do with this dude anyway?

How true that is. When I saw Jennifer Connelly in 'Career Opportunities' back in '91, I 'planned' on meeting her one day and making her my wife. Guess how that turned out?

Turbo or supercharge the FA20 first. Most likely you'll drive it for five minutes and forget about wasting 30k on this swap, which by the way is a MASSIVE job even for the more experienced among us. You'll be surprised how mad these little cars can be with just an extra 100 horsepower..

As some legit advice, learn to drive first with a relatively shitty car first before buying expensive, fast things. Work your way up over the years and enjoy the progress, a miata would be great truthfully. As much as I didn't want to admit it when I was 16, yet alone 14, teenagers will get dings, speed, be careless, and likely crash cars. You are learning too, keep that in mind. You will probably crash at some point too, so get a "beginner" car and work your way up before buying a 600whp car. I know youtube and the internet makes high hp crazy cars like "twincharged" seem easy and fun but there is so much time and complexity in these builds you can't even fathom. You will likely be glad later, and the progress is what makes cars fun anyway!
