actually went through and read every page.. you guys exaggerate man! i mean, when we saw the camo'ed pics we already knew the front clip was gonna be uglier than the original. compared to some of the renders, it really isn't bad at all. if the original front clip were a 10 out of 10, i'd give the new one like a 6.5. the rear isn't an improvement either, but in all honesty the changes are reaaaally subtle. putting the old front clip on the new car with the new headlights, now that would be the best of both worlds!

edit: stock rims are much improved imo

God! I have been all day trying to catch up with this thread. Still at page 11 and this just grows and grows. Do you people don't have to work?

I'll report back when I make it to the end.

Man it looks like everyone here hates the new bumper. What happens when new 2017 owners start joining the forum , you all just going to point and laugh?

Or maybe point them in the direction to swap out the bumpers.

Nope I will congratulate them on their wonderful new car. I don't like the bumper but that does not mean for one second I expect others to not like it.
Be a sad, sad world (or Communist era Soviet Union) if we all had exactly the same cars.

I work.
It was a slow day though.
I think I may have topped my personal daily best numbers on this thread alone.
Beats hell out of watching Go and Sheep rattle back and forth in random!

I have been saying for over a year that they are done with the 'cuz racecar crowd and have been slowly building the car up to hit broader demographics. They are now turning it into a true GT cruiser type vehicle and with each succeeding generation it is going to get further from what it started out as. We have seen this happen to many others (Eclipse, Celica, ah shit the list is endless). I am not saying that the older ones are "better" or the new "worse" just that they are different and meant to appeal to a wider group.
I completely agree Tcoat! This is something I've seen you preaching for a while and while I didn't give it the most credence, it did make sense seeing as the car hasn't sold gangbusters. Not too mention, the inherent problem with these sport coupes and the reason the old ones died (prelude, celica, mr2, eclipse, 240, etc.) is because they aren't cars that appeal to the broad market! Rather the vicious circle is that the ones who want to own this car buy one and are locked in for 5 years or more and once they have filled that smaller than general populous, the car will see dramatic falls in sales numbers (as it already has). Thus, this creates the only option left, make it more appeal worthy and exciting to the average joe. The ones who want the looks and could give a damn about purpose. but rather an overused 86 logo on everywhere they could stick the damned logo and if they can adjust their music from the wheel. I will admit, it pains me the gen1 86 doesn't have wheel controls because it's become such a nice luxury item to me. However, after slowly realizing what the 86 is, I for one AM GLAD they left it bare bones on the inside. The car is meant to be driven above all else. No distractions needed. I have come to appreciate that minimalist approach that instead has such a high degree of focus in the utmost important factor of a car. THE WAY IT DRIVES. Even more importantly though, anything we do in life at the very least should be in the pursuit of or act as a means to obtaining happiness, fun, joy, etc. The one thing I hear more than anything in looking at impressions of the 86 is simply how FUN it is to drive.

Pointed out to me by another 86 friend, the updated headlights look like they're more in line with the Concept II
