Hey guys, my fiancé bought me these in 18x8.75 +35 and i have a few questions since i'm a super noob.
1) Will 225/45/18 work fine on stock suspension? Also i'm planning on lowering on eibach sportlines in a month or so will these tires work with this setup as well or would you recommend a different size? 2) I've read mixed answers about hubcentric rings but for 5-10 dollars should i just get them? 3) What lugs do you recommend? |

As you can see from my above post. I am running 235/40/18 all around, lowered and have no issues with rubbing. I would not recommend the 225/45/18 you mentioned based on the fact that you are going from 17" 18" wheel and you want to keep the height as close to stock as possible. The 45 sidewall in my opinon would be too tall considering stock tires are a 45 as well.

I'm looking to get the XXR 530's sometime this year. Almost pulled the gun today on them, but I'm doing ring shopping, going to Cancun next month, Georgia in May and just went to the snow a few weeks back, so I might wait until June, but here is what I want:
XXR 530 Chromium Black (on a Black BRZ) Front 18x7.5 38 w/ 235/40/18 Rear 18x8.75 33 w/ 265/35/18 Hub centric rings Muteki r48 black Maybe I'm mistaken, but I haven't seen this setup. I know some prefer a square setup or something less meaty. Just curious if someone has this setup, and if they know if it will work on the stock suspension. The plan is to do coilovers or drop it an inch with Eibroch springs. If it matters, the future goals are forced induction for spirited weekend driving and mild daily driving with a day or two a year at the track max. |

So i got this setup on BFGoodrich sport gforce comp2's. Havent lowered it yet. There is tire poke and probably minor wheel poke on the rear. Fronts are perfectly flush. We will see if it is perfect dropped an inch in the rear. But the fromts might need spacers to be equally flush like 5mm

I have a the setup you're looking for on my BRZ. The wheels fit perfectly with this staggered setup.

So I go to pop on 225/40r18's on my XXR 530 8.75" and my tire guy mounts up one and refuses to do the rest claiming it's too dangerous of a stretch. He advised to do the 235/40's instead and I have read they do fit better but I've seen many people on here run 225's....is there an issue? Btw I have 225/40r18 Pirelli's for sale.. ha

You should find a new tyre guy lol 225/40 on 8.75 is not much of a stretch at all, I have that same tyre on 9.75s and have so for over 2 years. I've even seen them on 11s. As far as safety goes, I personally have never had an issue nor do I know anyone who has, maybe there has been the odd incident involving tyre stretch but on the whole 225/40 on 8.75 is pretty safe. Some tyre shops refuse simply because they can't do it, I once watched a couple of guys wrestle with one of mine for 40 minutes before giving up lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
