Question to those that have removed 3rd brake light
Hello, I'm getting my windows tinted Friday. The person I'm using is very reputable. He wants me to remove the brake light because he's broken two of them and is done removing them himself. I have truly read every thread on removing light and/or the rear deck, and know what to do. To those that have done this, which option am I less likely to break something? I'm not the most gentle or patient person when dealing with interior trim and the cheap fasteners that are used, lol. My thanks for any help.

Quote:
Just take the trim of the sides and pop all the clips out then it pulls off with a little fighting but not much. its just slightly to big to come out nice (the whole rear deck tray) |

Remove the rear deck, it's not that hard and gives full access

Hardest part is removing the rear deck without the plastic rivits tearing from the deck but unless you can figure a way to pull the deck while poking the end of the plastic piece then itll likely come off and need to be glued back on.

You don't need to remove the rear deck, you can unplug the light from the trunk and push on the back side of the housing and it will pop out. Once you remove it, it will give the person doing the job enough space to install the tint. I did that and had no complaints during install.
