How low did you have you viggen to need something other than the saab bumper supports? I never had a problem and I was on the full koni kit.

I seriously miss the simplicity and ease of taking off the front and rear viggen bumpers compared to this setup.

personally i think that looks like shit, looks worse than just having a sagging bumper. Obviously Functional if you need to take it off and on often but not really a solution for me..

OK, just trying to help. On my DGM you can barely see the latches, and my panels finally look like they fit correctly. (They make a number of different colors that might match better depending on your paint: blue, red, white, etc.)

It isn't very functional though, since removing the bumper is still a process on this (relatively easy to install) DIY. The latches just hold the bumper in place.

Why do we take off our bumpers so often that this is a problem?

Well people have to do things to their cars you know etc. turbo install, cold air intake, oil cooler/radiator, some even take them off for lip installs. I have never taken off my front bumper and i have that gap because when i scrape it pushes the tabs outwards. Pretty sure this is happening to most of us guys who haven't even touched their bumpers. Shitty ass Subaru tabs/clips

Furthermore, considering the cars lowered out of the factory, the thing does scrape often enough. Someone above already said that the dealership highlighted the scrapes under the bumper and said that that's mostly why the bumpers effed up (and more worryingly, declined any warranty repair for it)

I've scraped mine a few times. I'll keep a watch on it. I'm stock height. If I lowered it, u wouldn't be able to drive around here

It was totally stock. I just kept scraping on hills and the like and clips broke off completely. Since a new one was $800, we just cheaped out and redid it every year or so.

So, is there a permanent fix or once you get the bumper sag it'll come back regardless?

Wonder if they've addressed it in the new bumper design for the 2017 86

So in summary this is a issue of how the bumper is made.

Just got a new bumper cover put on after someone hit my car in the parking lot and noticed the gaps. Shop guy showed me how clips are used instead of nuts and bolts on a different Subaru and said can't really do much about the gap so I wanted to make sure this was not a issue the shop caused.

If they removed it improperly then they could have caused it. It's hard to prove if you don't have evidence it was correct before the shop worked on it. Once you have it it'll never go away until you replace the bumper.
