You need some form of internet connectivity, whether it's tether through your phone or a mobile hotspot. Actually you don't need internet, unless you want to do things that need internet

ah so I could just connect via bluetooth and run off my phones data as the stock radio does. Great! I am a big android fan. Not many radios like to recognize my Oneplus One phone via USB cable and the Bluetooth in my car is random when it decides to connect so i think i will be purchasing this in the future. Much appreciated!

I suppose this location would give you the best results?

Although it looks soo weird sticking out the dash console like that. Is there noway to reuse the oem mic?

Great idea! I was thinking running the cable behind A pillar and putting mic ant the top but here looks more discrete. Thanks!

It's been said in this thread you would have to solder to be able to use stock mic unfortunately.

So where do you put the antenna wire?

The diagram/instructions say to wire it to blue cable but that's the pin everyone says to move from pin 8 to 9 (or viceversa) to make the stock amp work for the door speakers so tap that wire for the stock antenna power?

EDIT: I tapped the blue wire and it works fine.

Got you.. I soldered the amp remote to it. Will also tap it for the antenna booster then..

Thanks!

So there's no use for this plug? The harness that came with the HU does not match

Also, I got this adapter for the stock usb port and it does not fit... and there are a bunch of people in the amazon product page saying that it does. Smh....

Sidenote - amazon is amazing, they refunded the charge for the wrong usb adapter, didn't ask for it back

This post might be helpful. It does specify that you need AX-TOYUSB not AX-TOYUSB2 like you purchased.
