Read some of your blog and found something interesting....

I've been thinking about getting the P3 guage....havent pulled the trigger yet.

I used to leave my ecutek cable plugged into my car 24/7 as i was logging tuning on the way to work every day....noticed battery was dead once.

Now you say leaving the p3 guaged plugged into the OBDII port drained your battery.

I wonder if anyone else has ever had this issue? Is there a way to circumvent it?

ETA: I've got the ptuning headers as well and was disappointed as to their performance vs price paid....torque dip is insanely horrible with this system but ohh well. It's a fun track car for sure in the high RPM range, but daily driving can get you run over if you are in the wrong gear at the wrong time due to honda civic torque numbers

What about comparing the PTuning to other headers on the market? PTuning still twice the cost with the same performance?

The title of the thread leads me to believe the cost is worth it post 5k RPM. But it sounds like this may not be the best choice for DD?

Imho DD more often is driven at low & mid rpms for economy/comfort/speed limits reasons. At least i'm judging from my driving, rarely touching upper ones near redline, even when overtaking. So if these won't do better then others at those rpm ranges and also won't eliminate infamous torque dip, then imho yes, others are better investment per buck. But then again main focus of these headers was stated by PTuning since very beginning as meant for no compromise racing, and thus shouldn't come as surprise of any sorts, they wanted max performance at top and succeeded in it like they planned to. Nameless had that choice aswell, but decided to choose more power/torque in mid. Even Ace header with their 150/250/350 overpipe runners have different focus/gains at different rpms. Choose your poison by yourself . I have to note though that they all will be more efficient then stock catted headers though, fight is between themselves, not against stock.

Plan on making a stop tomorrow to pick up the header. Thinking about getting the ecutek unit as well. Would loading a "pre" built map be done? Or do I need to schedule for some dyno time?

That shouldn't be a problem! We do offer the cam timing for our header for customers using the openflash tablet or are taking their vehicles to be tuned locally but we don't include any base maps with the header specifically. Your best bet would be to schedule in for a custom dyno tune as there's more to be gained from just cam timing. We can get you that sweet 200whp mark!

You also make more wtq than other NA vehicles with this header, but you deal with a gap that is still above many mfg's peaks. It depends how you want to drive the car and where you want your power to reside at. Personally, I prefer my setup, but I can't say that I've been able to push another 86 with another mfg's header with a dyno'd tune (local club members only had street tuning).

PTUNING 4-1 Full T304 SS Equal Length Double-Slip Race Header (200+whp 93 pum...

Wow. Great job ptuning.

Guys this is a stock BRZ with the ptuning header. No other power mods. Very very happy customer. And it's nice feeling to hand your keys over to professionals and get exactly what they prescribe. Perhaps even a bit more 😆

Those numbers are really impressive! Does this dyno read high???

How does it feel when daily driving after the tune?

LOL it is actually one of the lowest reading dynos in the area aka a "heartbreak" dyno. Just a great header and a great tuner .

What Freddie said.

For as daily driving you will hear the metallic rattle of the 2nd cat at specific rpms. Nothing annoying just something metallic. Blip throttle response seems to be improved and heel toe downshifts seem easier. Could be placebo effect but I swear you can feel the difference. Pulls much harder now.

Can you provide a typical stock graph from your dyno?
