Crank's NA BRZ Build
Whats up guys and girls, my BRZ journey started much much earlier than most, while most heard of the Toybaru in the past year or so I have watched and wait since Toyota hinted back in 2007 that they were working with Subaru to make a new 86 and I said that would be my car! Fast forward 2012 they car is released! Since I did not pre-order one I had to wait for one to come in without a name attached to it. So in October 2012 I purchased the last BRZ sold in SoCal and she was the classic World Rally Blue with only 5 miles on the clock when I got there, I put 9 more for the test drive (which honestly I did not need) The car the machine was mine.
For months I tossed back and forth from supercharger, turbo, Vortech Supercharger, AVO Turbo, Innovate Supercharger, FBM Turbo, Greddy Turbo... then when the news came out from Subaru Japan and Toyota Japan that the twin's "big brothers "STI tS" will not come forced induction I knew that was my sign... no FI for me. That is where I started my search to make power with bolt ons and thinking out side the box sort of speak but not cutting holes in my frame either haha! How did the driveshaft change the car? Was an improvement noticeable in feel and/or throttle response?
A tune is really going to wake the car up once you get it...looking forward to the results... |

You planning on doing a different final drive, lightweight crank, and lightweight flywheel? That's my plan to stay NA while adding a "pick me up"

I think doing a 4.55 FD will kill my cruising on the freeway.. Haha and yeah light weight FW and different clutch will do nice with the shaft

EDIT: Moved question to driveshaft thread here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44072#3 With a 4.67 in 6th gear I'm getting roughly 3000 RPM at 60MPH, 3500 RPM at 70 MPH, and 4000 RPM at 80MPH. The 4.55 should be around 100 RPM less. To me that's far from being killed but everyone's tolerance is different. It also would depend on your cruising speed and exhaust/cat combination. I LOVE that you added a lightweight driveshaft as a beginning mod. They help with drivability immensely IMO and most people overlook them. Can't wait to see what else you do with the car.
