Sorry if I offended anyone by considering this car but it does have a lot of mods that i wanted to do myself. I appreciate the concerns a lot. It is great that you all find joy in personalizing your own cars but honestly that isn't something I'm that into. I will be making a few personal changes once i have more money saved up from my job but other than that I'm pretty content. I may not have done what you consider sufficient research but I've attempted to the best of my ability to find answers.

I've been aware from the start its a fairly low power car.

Thanks again.

I hope to make some trades in the future with some of you in my area!
Do what you want to do but if you have issues with the car don't wonder what's causing them and complain about the previous owner, also even though he says its has a factory warranty still make sure its transferable, even then with it modded like that a dealer will probably scoff if you attempt to take it in for repair

Actually I grew up so Canadian white trash any redneck would have been proud to call my family theirs. That t is why I joined the army at 17.
I learned on the same thing. Three on the floor with a tranny with no syncros and power nothing. It was a 1950 Ford and I was 9 years old.

Hmmm, wouldn't want to take that out of context now would you?

So this isn't an adequate car, but a mustang is? (According to @Packofcrows of course)

No where in this thread did I read that the OP wanted to show off, it was only assumed by other posters.

Besides, who gives a fuck if he wraps it around a pole? That phenomenon isn't only limited to drivers of twins. Plenty of owners of 100k+ super cars do it all the time.

I for one think you asked a reasonable question in a reasonable manner and am baffled at some of the replies.
If the car is already modded to what you want and you fully understand that those mods will impact warranty, reliability, driving dynamics, etc then go for it.
Although there certainly are some strong benefits in buying new and then determining what you want to do after driving it stock for a bit if everybody stayed away from buying used ones for fear they had been modded then the used value will drop through the floor. Then all the "buy new only" crowd will be crying the blues when they try to sell and find nobody wants theirs either.

Let's not forget that this car is gods gift to humans, and only those who know how to handle the mortal killing death machine that is RWD may drive them. And God forbid you buy an auto, may as well have just bought a Yaris.

I'm actually planning on getting an AT >_>
That said, it suits my needs better. Not that I'd object to getting a Manual, I just don't really care about having a clutch pedal, more that I can control the shift points. Besides, I don't need to be learning to drive manual in a lightweight RWD car in the snow lol

That said, I do understand why some people would want the manual, having had some small bit of experience with driving stick. It's more involved, and I get that, but it's just not really my thing.

Nononononono

LOL

What I meant was not discourage him. He can lick his exhaust for all I care. I was just stating MY own opinion brother... lol

A Mustang 2005 GT would be a better alternative to a new driver. It has better torque (300+) and HP (280+).

Now what I meant is that:

It's cheaper
Decent DD
Has sporty features+ride

Also, as a noob or intro car enthusiast don't deny speed wasn't one of your big desires. You wanna feel it, you want it to last and you want to beat it up.

The Mustang is a better beginner car IMO. Now if you compare a Shelby or a super crazy hp car, then you are not understanding what I am meaning. I'm talking about getting more of a everyday status quo car.

I hate Ford... so i'm not saying they better than the twins btw. It's a different monster afterall.

There's people who say a Corvette is a good beginner car, that's their opinion. Mine is my own as well.

Like Tcoat said, he can drive the fk he want's! LOL

Also, a few months back (August?) a lot of twins around here in my part of the state were being traded in for V8 trucks, muscle cars and overall stronger displacement engines. (Mostly for V8 trucks though) 90% from what I saw of these peeps trading were 24yr olds to H.S. kids. My street now has 3 Camaros and 2 Challengers. I'm guessing the trades came from new car drivers who learned the twins are not what they seem.

After you go through a few cars and get the speed racer out of you/the speed racer exorcised out of you, then you learn to appreciate the little things in a car.

I wouldn't have settled for a twin if it weren't for owning the cr@ppy cars I did in the past which included a few Windsor engines. After owning my ae86 and Celica, i settled with 4 bangers and learned that more than 200hp has become and still today, is too much hp for my style of driving. I learned speed is not everything and have yet to become tired of FRS. But, this is only due to my cr@ppy car experiences of owning many cars. I learned to appreciate the driving without being fast, seek pleasure through my car without adrenaline rushes and overall take care of my car.

Also, friend wanted a SI, then a Genesis, BRZ, then other sporty cars, but after introducing him to the 2015 base model Civic and him test driving it, he decided to buy it. He learned that the SI was too much of a car for his habits, and the Genesis driving was too 'cheap' for him (his own words). The Civic was perfect for him, he felt comfortable and he liked what he felt. He has gone through a sporty Golf R(?), a 80's Civic and a Dodge SRT4.

I don't know how to make this more clear. I'm going home. I'm drunk now. Played half a gig of Johnny Cash songs and Damien Rice for friend's "party."

I'm taking a shot for you.

Cheers Brother.
