So, I received from JRSC on Monday - Thanks CSG for everything. Well started off just fine removal of the bumper, etc, but then went to remove the plastic idler pulley and well what do you know, a boat load of metal was embedded into the thread on the bolt. There was no binding really it just came out like it should. I examined the threaded hole of the alternator bracket and there really isnt anything left. I went ahead and tried to thread the bolt back in and it seats in somewhat but it will never tighten down fully, kinda just spins with effort. Go figure that this would happen on a Saturday evening.

Sounds like it is stripped... you may need to drill it out and sleeve it =X

I am from Alaska, Does this SC have any issues with running in cold weather.
I don't plan on running it in the winter/snow/ice, but want to have a strong reliable SC for the majority of the months here in Alaska.
Also does anybody have a Jackson Supercharger Coupon. IF so, this would really help me jump the gun in getting the unit.

Not entirely sure, but I believe there are a handful of folks front the Midwest on this thread who have similar harsh winter weather. If memory serves me right, there is at least on user with an e-tune (I wanna say delicious?) that needed modification on the tune to run better at lower temps.

Good luck with the coupon search, the kit is still in high demand and I don't think there's going to be discounts any time soon.

I DD'd my FRS through the entire winter and had no problems with the CARB tune. Even parked it outside every night and it would start up and run every morning just like stock. My kit saw a lot of snow and road salt and never had any issues. I also didn't do any preventative maintenance or special care for it during the winter, just drove it normally.

Last I checked there is still a waiting list a few months long for these kits. You might get lucky trying to find one used, but I can guarantee you won't find a discount on a new kit.

There are no coupons or discounts on the Jackson Racing supercharger. Any vendor selling the kit discounted is in direct violation of Jackson Racing policy.

The kit is good for -40F/-40C. If you're running a custom tune, and not the Jackson Racing Factory Tune, then you'll want to make sure your tuner is aware of your conditions.

Currently the lead time is about 3-4 weeks. It was down to about 2 weeks at one point but the demand went back up...

Probably around the same time a lot of belts started getting chewed up.

Correct; kits are shipped in the order in which the orders are received

Does anyone know the exact requirements for the evap obd2 test? I've had the JRSC kit installed for a few hundred miles now, and it still says incomplete. I'm beginning to wonder if it has something to do with the ambient air temperature sensor. It always reads high now, over 90 degF, and I think I read somewhere that the evap test only occurs below that?

Thanks
-Mark

JRSC Hose Routing

Hey All,

I rerouted my lines because of my Radium catch cans, so the oil reservoir is on the other side near the battery. Attached is a very rough drawing I made comparing the setups recommended by the install guide vs. how I routed the lines.

Name: Capture.PNG
Views: 1249
Size: 52.5 KB

Does it matter which lines go in and out of the 10-row Setrab cooler?

Basically, the OUT line from the Rotrex dumps directly into the cooler, I cut the hose short since the location was so close. The oil cooler then pumps upwards to the relocated oil reservoir, which again, now resides next to the battery. From there, it feeds to through the oil filter to the IN on the Rotrex.

My concern is how short the line is coming from the OUT as compared to Jackson's recommendation, where the line takes a longer path before it hits the oil cooler.

Thanks!

I'd like to see your placement of the cans. I've yet to install my 2nd because of the oil reservoir. I was considering relocating that vs the can.

^ there is a post somewhere that shows you how to cut the radium bracket so that they'll both fit next to the brake booster just fine. I did it myself with a hacksaw and it works great and holds them both well.
