This IS the most obnoxious feature of the car I swear.. My AC pump is turning on and off constantly just from having my fan on in the car. Changing which vents to use didnt seem to change the outcome. I wish I could disable this..

Threeeeaaaaaaad necro!
Just found out this (idiotic) "feature" today after a year of owning the car (my wife and I share it) :\ Thanks for the replies - running AC all the time is also bad for your vents; after each use of the AC, condensation occurs inside the vents and over time the cyclic condensation can/will create mold. I've always been told that it's a good idea to run the fan w/o AC for a few minutes after using the AC for a day. Has anyone figured out how to disable this? My "go to" setting for cars is having the fan on blowing air to my feet & the windshield |

Yes this is true, but its not that 'big' of a problem. This will happen by like 10yrs of ownership. What I do is I run it without the a/c kicking in, just air, let it dust out a bit, then turn a/c on, drive, and 3-5min before I get to my destination, just run air and ultimately turn it off.
Also, i'm an@l about this but when I clean my interior I attach a small pipe to my vacuum and place it inside vents. I like being inside my car to ensure its clean as best as possible. Especially when it blows air at my face full of dust. I live in a rural and dusty area. The little pipe used to have a brush you could attach, but I lost it.

This has gotten my attention.
I often feel a "stumble" or hesitation, under mild acceleration. I had attributed it to the AC being ON, so I have done some experiments with the AC "Off" and seemed to still notice it occasionally. Now that I know that "Off" might not be truly "OFF", I need to do some more experiments. |

Could be for lifespan too-- a compressor that can work well at 2.5K might not tolerate 7K for very long.
