What I like about the yellows is they did a great job of keeping the car planted, without bouncing on the bump stops. But they also helped reduce under steer. On top of the better handling they didn't wear the stock dampers too fast (any lowering spring will increase wear), the drop was mild, and I found the ride was actually better than stock. The ride isnt smoother, that isn't the right word for it, more controlled or less crashy would be a better way to say it. Either way, it was more enjoyable to drive spiritedly, and just going to get groceries. |

My advice is to ask yourself, when I drive the car hard do you find the back of the car moves around more than I like or does the front end feels a little soft? If so the RCE yellows are the obvious choice. Or do I enjoy the way the car currently handles with a lively rear end? Then the TRD springs are a better choice. If you don't drive your car hard enough to have an opinion on this then it doesn't really matter, both are quality items and both lower the car similar amounts so go for whichever you can get cheaper.

So I was shopping for springs and the cheapest RCE Yellows I found were $349 and the TRD springs I found for $215. Anyone know where to find the RCE Yellows for cheaper? If not it seems like TRD would be the way to go and save like $100…I just think the drop might be a little too much for me…I go over at least 5 speed bumps on my commute to work everyday.

Lowering your car 1" won't effect going over speed bump.

Are those speed bumps freakin irregularly huge or something?
Most speed bumps have a height limit, like 3 inches or something. Unless you are completely slammed and scraping on every single driveway, you won't have problems. |

The bottom photo is from this thread, and the member who posted this photo says a few posts earlier that the drop was .75" immediately after installation, not 1.0" as claimed in the post above. This is mine after settling. I can assure you the final drop is less than 1.0", and the ride quality is more firm, but in no way harsh, and chin scrapes have not been more of an issue. |

Apparently Bulldozer guy from above's springs havent settled all the way. TRD advertises -1" to -1 1/8"th. So I can see his example starting at -.75" and ending up at -1" in a month or two.

I got the TRD springs, as said before they are very subjective but I am happy with them. The drop is just right for daily driving.

I had both springs and the RCE Yellow are much better for ride quality and handling in my opinion. I currently have RCE Yellow with Koni Yellows. Seems like I may I think non-progressive springs are better.
