TRD ABS Plastic Kit?
So I was wondering what the differences were from a non-genuine TRD in ABS plastic was?
This japex_trading place that imports legit TRD pre-painted in 37J white sells the 3 piece - front/side/rear kit for $2200AU (750 Shipping). This ebay seller is selling the same 3 piece unpainted for $880 + $80 shipping Is there anything to look out for with this ABS Plastic version? or if I should even buy the ABS version? and how much painting it would cost? |

I'd get the genuine for perfect fit, all the hardware included and if pre-painted they do a great job.. Unlike plastic they won't crack.. Try Import Monster in Vic, they usually have this stuff in stock
He has front lip painted $660, skirts painted $745 ,but no price on rear skirt |

Was about to say... Not sure what @Juvenile is talking about. Are you aware of the different material properties? Plastic does not equal crack, other all of the OEM would be "cracked". Your car is made of plastic, different compositions, but still plastic.
The key to good paint jobs is prep work. Just because it comes pre-painted doesn't mean $#!+. Not only that, but white is the one color you should get unpainted. It fades faster than the other colors. Not only that, but getting the proper paint match is hard unless you are directly working with it. The differences between the TRD and copies are material thickness (not sure there), mounting hardware, and OEM approved fitment. It's your choice.

Sorry about that, I kinda misread that, I was thinking more about damage when scraping on curbs, driveways etc.. I have seen fiberglass and plastic kits crack where as kits I've had in the past such as PPE lips from Modellista and TRD tend to be thicker, stronger with more flex, a bit more forgiving than plastic.

I've never seen a prepainted oem part done wrong. It's pretty much always the ones you buy on eBay or other sites that sell replicas.
