Personally, I wouldn't recommend the Forester XT OEM oil cooler. One reason is because it is based on the engine coolant and this is good mainly for heating the oil faster (better for the turbo). It also helps when the oil temperature gets high, but not so much. The other reason is because the oil pressure of our engine is extremely high compared to other conventional engines. This is a result of the high rev nature of the engine. I am not sure if this is the case for the Forester XT engine. If you use the Forester's oil cooler, you might have more chances for oil leekage. In fact, there was a recall of the Toyota 86 Racing model in Japan because the OEM oil cooler had some leakage. This is a different design, but they still had leakage.

I am not a 100% sure, but I did some picture comparisons and the Toyota 86 Racing oil cooler looks like the one that HKS is selling (only different color: purple -> red). Maybe again it is a coincidence, but HKS made also a revision of their product after the Toyota recall. More information here.

Thanks for the info! I saw someone use the forester cooler and im not a racer but for anticipated 3-4 times a year road course track fun that's why I figured this would be a good option. I will look into another cooler I just don't want one that mounts in front of the AC condenser.

Here is the oil cooler you want http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/mish...stat-1390.html

My friend got it and it is awesome, even normal driving and not just tracking.

I don't need $500 worth of cooling..lol thanks for the link though. I was looking at a small cooler with a small fan so I can not have it in front of the radiator and put it someplace in the engine bay.

If they had that version of blue back in 14 I may have went for it instead of the Lava. Bet in the right light it will almost look purple much like my 08 Lancer GTS did.

Not yet, the Ship with them is still in Florida and next stop is Port of Newark. They have 24 hours to unload all the Toyota's and Scion's then inspection by the carrier and Toyota reps. then from there possibly start delivery schedules based on what cars the dealer chooses.

And that will just be the first load of several likely. Those may not even go to the dealer near you (which of course would suck).

Not necessarily. They could all be headed out of State (I doubt it but it is possible). Just keep nagging the local dealers until they give you a firm date.

Depends on when the dealer selects an FR-S for their inventory. Could be that the higher volume dealerships get first choice and like Tcoat said, could be out of state.
