I believe the new LMP1 cars might be taking the crown at this point.

Voila, you now have a recipe for great racing, whilst separating the men from the boys
Sounds like Ayrton Senna era

Basically the problem of this F1 era is it it's too aero-dependent, and drivers can't get close enough to the car in front without losing their front downforce. IMO, they should give them better mechanical grip, so maybe even wider tires, and reduce the downforce they are able to produce, that would make following the car in front easier and drivers will be able to get close enough to make a pass. Not with the DRS BS we have now...

Honda is in the game to win. They don't do anything half assed, they are saving their tokens and making small improvements weekly. The car is progressing very well Alonso saw his first Q2, so all is not lost. They will be a force to contend with here maybe next year if they keep at it... they kick ass in MotoGP...

Well, at least Monaco has some potential to be a good race. I remember reading that McLaren had the 2nd fastest speed through corners in one of the previous races, so on a track like Monaco where power isn't as important they might be able to do a bit better. Still, it would be better if Honda actually got their shit together....

I'd love to see the FIA institute a set of rules that would limit, in some way, how much money teams could spend but not what they could spend it on. Put a strict limit on the width of the bodywork between the axle lines to limit the down force. Make the tires much narrower but allow multiple tire manufacturers again. Keep the max 100 kg fuel limit, or maybe just the equivlalent amount of energy, but get rid of the max instantaneous flow limit. That's pretty much it, no restrictions on engine type, number of cylinders, forced induction, hybridization, gearbox type, brakes, etc. No limit on number of engines or transmissions used, no limit on testing. Just the overall spending limit.

Impractical and it will never happen for commercial reasons, but it would be super cool for us techy fans.
