The FXT cooler can only cool to the temp that the coolant is at. If you're looking for genuine cooling, an air-to-oil cooler is much better.

That's why upgrade the radiator for. Also where I live, it snows, so it's good to do water-oil to warm up the oil faster compare to air-oil.

If I was living in SoCal and tracking every wkend, it's different story... But it's still up in the air. We'll see

Maybe I need to start making member car journal or something lol

Thanks, but I already have that thread bookmarked (several months ago)... technically, I have several dozen threads that I've bookmarked for DIY for parts I want

Why do people think flying cars are going to happen one day? Do people honestly think their commute to work will be easier navigating through the air as opposed to driving on the ground?! I don't trust people in TWO dimensional navigation, much less three.

Imagine Miss Mary Makeup or Timmy Texter flying their deathtrap to work. I shudder at the thought.

Self-driving cars will be a thing first. I would have no problem with people connecting their car to a grid control system and being slotted into traffic.

Plus, think of how cool track days would be. Red Bull air races would be tame in comparison.

You will have to submit for a midichlorian test prior to the race though.

Flying cars actually already are a thing, and have been since the 50's if not before, just most people think of the Jetsons or Star Wars when they think of flying cars.

There are multiple companies that make roadable airplanes or flyable cars depending on which one does what better. Most are considered experimental and they all cost crazy/stupid money. Therein lies the big problem. Anything that does one well will not do the other well and they will all cost crazy money just because the FAA is involved, and they will be limited production (hand built means again stupid expensive). Just the corporate liability insurance alone probably drives $50,000 per unit of the price.

A couple of my favorites are the Maverick and the not yet flying Switchblade. I have always considered the Terrafugia one of the ugliest pieces of almost workable engineering in the space. There are others that follow the Maverick model, basically strapping a flexible wing onto a two or three wheeled roadable vehicle .

My favorite piece of flying vaporware with a tie to the automotive industry is the brainchild of Moller the inventor of the Supertrapp muffler. He continues to fund this 30 year project with money he has ripped off from investors and as a result of profits from his actual usable products such as the SuperTrapp. He has a new rotary engine that looks pretty sweet. I do think his more saucer/drone like models have some merit with the new engine and computer technology to help drive them.

So in the end, yes you are right, it will be a long time before we have the everyman flying car. It could very well be an extension of the autonomous car at some point though since human control is the real problem.

If you post a truly random thought to the random thought thread aren't you actually directly on subject which makes it a non-random thought?
