I've got a long drive ahead of me as well when I pick mine up.
So just to clarify - we're not supposed to keep it at the same rev for a long period of time and the manual states we're not supposed to exceed 4k RPMs. So if I'm on the highway - I'll set my timer to go off every 10-15 mins to change gears/speed/RPMs to vary from 2k-4k RPM? That sound about right? |

Driving 12+ hours for mine. Picking up in Puyallup, WA, and driving home to San Francisco. 2 states and 800 miles, just for a car! Aww yeah.

The dealer I'm buying mine from is probably 30mins from my house, but when I pick up the car, I'll take the really long way home.

My dealer is about 10 minutes away. Since I work from home I'll need to take some long weekend trips to get to 1,000 miles.

Granted plotting a back road route for a trip that otherwise takes 4 hours isn't easy but doable. Try making a route with google maps drag and reroute feature.
Your only other option would be to have it trailered. |

I plan on putting ~4000 miles on the car before the end of June (but depending on family plans my drive to Gettysburg might get cancelled). August will see a drive to Ohio, September maybe Colorado.
They are meant to be driven after all

I once drove from cleveland, oh to myrtle beach, sc using only back roads. This was before google maps and gps. Plotted it out on a atlas and arrived 24 hours later lol

Yes they are. Part of the reason I am getting rid on my 10 month old Legacy is that I have put 5k miles on it. I just don't enjoy driving it that much and it sits there.
