Ooook, so figuring im too lazy to send you a PM @Ultramaroon, i have some battery problems with my samsung devices. Im using the charger that comes with my tab s 8.4 for my phone and tab. It charges it damn quickly, now i read the specs (its been a long time since i reviewed my current and amprage and volts) but it seems that all my other chargers output at a much lower amprage, like 850mAmps. Is the samsung charger from my tab bad for the battery? The tab charger outputs at 2Amps.

Nah. The tab charger is capable of delivering 2 amps but the charge rate is regulated by the device under charge. I think they have temp sensors on board to make sure they don't go into thermal runaway (like laptops) The faster charge is actually a good thing. With LiPO or Li-ion batteries, they do best when cycling slightly above room temp. I don't remember the exact numbers but warm to the touch - not hot.

edit: added "I think" for truth. Either way, the rule of thumb is a 2C charge rate is ballpark. If you have a 1000mAh cell it can be charged at 2 amps.

Ive done some reading and some people are having piss poor battery life, having battery jumps and going from full charge to dead before finishing a movie.

The biggest proponent i thought at first was the screen, and it kinda was. But turning down the settings on helped so much.

The android stuff is notorious for lousy power management. A couple friends at work got the iphone 5. Holy crap. Their charges last at least as long as my old Razr. I've been holding out on a smart phone for 2 reasons, shitty phone microphones and the equally shitty battery life.

Dunno. I'm not an apple fanboi but those things have me looking.

Ive been okay with samsung stuff, removeable batteries are nice. The phone ive been looking at was the Droid turbo, 3900 mAmp battery. Holy shit, twice as large as the iphone's, reported to last 2 days with heavy use.

only problem, thats reported, not first hand experience lol
