Haven't posted in a while but installed a JRSC last weekend on my own. What is promised on the box is what comes in it. Instsll took about 16 hours and included the additional oil cooler. Had some help from a friend during the day but all in all a successful install. Just finished the bresk in period of 500 km so will see tomorrow what this kit can do. So far very happy with it and can't wait to see what will happen on a custom tune.

The kit looks rock solid so far and the whine is glorious. Can't wait to open her up and see what she can do.

13k miles, all with the kit.

The Good:
Love it.

The Unfortunate:
Had a slow leak at one of the sc radiator connections (possibly installation error, connector was just a little bit loose), noticed early and fixed quickly. Also had a slow leak from the oil cooler pipe where it connects to the AN fitting (pipe had a small crack), possibly another one from the seal under the thermostatic oil adapter. Bought everything new from JR for the oil cooler kit aside from the oil radiator and radiator mounting bracket, had them replaced and shipped old parts to JR for inspection. Waiting to hear from JR if I'll get any refunds for parts under warranty.

The Conclusion:
None of this was a big deal - I'd buy the JR SC kit and the JR oil cooler again without hesitation, great upgrade for this car.

that's actually quite a big deal one of the worst thing can happen to anyone, if you ask me .. why?, because it can cause a fire in the engine, do you know how many car burned down due to oil leak in the engine bay?

At the track today I saw a supercharged mustang, no intercooler, but water/meth injection. The car owner said it made 20 more hp and was a lot lighter. Anyone ever done this to a supercharged 86 instead of intercooler?

If its tuned with the water/meth, then that's an additional (and highly probable) point of failure.

If the system ever fails, or the owner ever, EVER forgets to top off the system, and it runs out, kaboom.

I tested this at the track. I highly do NOT recommend it.

1. My failsafe was always going off due to the methanol pickup getting air in it due to all the sloshing around that goes on at the track. Those high G turns slosh the fluid around a lot especially after the tank is not completely full after a few laps.

2. Pain in the ass having to refill the tank all the time. Even if you use a big tank you will still have to top it off to prevent air getting in the line. I used a 3 gal tank and I would go through half a tank each session.

3. Just too much complexity and points of failure like CSG Mike said.

Agree that it could have been a big deal but it wasn't and these kinds of issues seem to be very rare with this kit. Given how many issues I had with the shop that moved these and many other parts from my previous car, I wouldn't be surprised if that played a part, but who knows...at least I'm in good hands with @moto-mike and none of the issues caused more problems than an inconvenience and money to fix.

That's pretty much what I was thinking when I saw it. But never seeing this before I had to ask.
