I am debating modifying my nameless FP/OP catted combo by installing one of these resonators.

basically, cut the front pipe near the catback end and make two welds to fit this.

Would it fit ? See any issue with this route?

I even managed to sell mine for about $100 - a bit of compensation after spending almost $700 + install/reinstall expenses
Why couldn't a good welder have modified the pipe to fit..I have seen the amazing things Russians can do with primitive tools..when I say I have seen , I mean on Youtube of course!!!!

Alternatively, nameless does make just the front pipe. That could be considered?

i'm on page 67 / 204 of the Nameless header thread and intend to read every last page so i know all there is to know

My concern right now is that with my full 3" perrin CBE and 3" overpipe/downpipe + eventually headers that the car will be too loud. I'm not 17 anymore unfortunately so a sound clip would be super helpful.

I didn't see it in the thread, or maybe overlooked it. My downpipe resonator is hanging pretty low, where when I go over certain speed bumps, it scraps. Has anyone else run into this? I got it installed at a shop, so if it is error on their part, I can go back.

The fitment isn't with the overpipe portion, just the resonator...

false, the overpipe rubs on the corner of the head in most cases. I have had both revisions (resonator at the front and resonator at the back) of the resonated front / over pipe combo and both have rubbed on the corner of the head and or the cross member. This is with 3 different headers (stock, fa20 long tube, and 2 nameless headers, one first batch and one cosworth style batch).

My issue isn't with the overpipe. It's with the resonator ball hanging low. Besides, I simply have the Nameless frontpipe; not the OP/FP combo.

i take it the helmholtz resonator is better than a regular resonator. but do u know if theres a huge difference?

There is. The Helmholtz is designed to take out certain frequencies. Blow over the top of a coke bottle for example, that's what it does. A regular resonator just reduces rasp, and some volume to the sound. Some cases adds a deeper sound as well.

Helmholtz resonators target drone. Larger resonators target rasp and sound volume.
