I'm going off topic here to share with you a couple pics from today's Round 2 of SoCal's 86Cup. When I arrived, I literally stopped counting one side of FRS/BRZ when I couldn't make out the farthest car anymore haha. Then there was a parallel line of them (I didn't want to seem like a stalker so I counted from inside my car lmao).

Then there was this one! SoCal owned with mods I've never seen before. Tricks to the front end suspension, I'm amazed, can be done. TBH, everything about it just seemed so new and well placed. In a conversation, "...best build no one has seen before...". Yah!!

Exciting news for NorCal 86Cup! Stay tuned...

Definitely glad to come out of this unscathed , I don't usually like bringing religion into public talk but I am glad my prayers before my usual drives were heard to keep me safe .

Please be careful out there one wet days everyone , the road is definitely way more slippery than you may think after a dry spell !

Thank you to @gepeyo and my other friends for being there when I needed the support the most , because of you I was able to stay positive throughout this whole situation !

Track plans will probably be postponed until June but after walking away from this I cannot complain .

See you in a bit Sophie !

Just a FYI... the guy that owns that FRS is a suspension engineer at Tein.... that might be heavily involved in the CSG-spec SRC...

He may have also done this.

I was just looking at the NCRC Chrono Series website http://www.chronoseries.com trying to see what events I think I might go to this year.

It says May 23/24 are "double points". Meaning these 2 events will be scored as if they were 4 events?
Also, will the series have any drops? Ex: You best 8 of 12 are scored?

Yes. Yes. And yes.

May 23/24 is combined with Socal so it can be anyone's game for the taking.
Drops will typically be the least attended events.

I'm under assumption that we are running 5/23 only.

SoCal is counting 5/23 only, although I wouldn't be surprised if some guys stayed for 5/24 as well...

So after I told myself I was going to wait until next year, I decided that there is no way I'm waiting. I'm going to miss the first event sadly, but I'm going to try and make the rest.

A couple questions:

All the events seem to be 2 day events. Does that mean making both is required?
I've done one event with NCRC, does that mean I'm in their system?

You don't have to attend both. Each day is treated separately.

You should be in their system. What run group did you run in?

Prepare for the heat (overheating). Speaking from personal experience last year and watching other FI setups...FI + summer heat = super high Oil and Coolant temps. Off the shelf oil coolers didn't cut it. Had to go bigger core. Stock radiator did it's job once the oil temps were back down to reasonable.

I ran in Solo with them.

I have a couple things I'm working on as far as heat goes. I don't exactly expect to be super competitive out there, but I push the car pretty hard and will be doing quite a bit of testing.

I see. You will unfortunately have to graduate to Point-By run group in order to register for the 86cup. Best way, if you have 4-5 days, is to have one of the NCRC instructors evaluate you on track for a session. Thoughts @MyRx?
