I just dropped by and took a look! Thanks again luxmn for letting us sit in it
It's beautiful! Unfortunately I'm like #7 on the waitlist and Jim Lee told me that they're only getting 1 for the first allocation, so it might be a bit of a wait for me |

Well then that little video of them driving it into the building should tide you over. Initial impressions: Tiny tiny tiny car, interior feels cheap in places (mainly anything related to HVAC control knobs and vents, and the base radio) the sun visor is hard cheap plastic but it does it's job. Everything else in the car was fantastic, soft steering wheel, supportive seats, soft plastic on the door. Shift feel was excellent, absolutely no play in the shift knob. Did I mention it was tiny? The whiteout looks gorgeous and all the lines on the car are beautiful. But, I can't see myself buying one with the radio and HVAC controls the way they are, as they're the most used features on a DD. Also, the shift stick gets in the way of accessing the HVAC controls, they should have been placed higher. And rear quarter visibility is a joke with the massive rear pillar in the way. Luckily the rear view mirrors are large so you can stick some wide angle mirrors on them. Did I mention it was tiny? Anyway, for a track car it's fantastic. The HVAC controls are livable and the radio is replaceable. Miata doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell. |

It sucks that the car is so tiny as you say, how long is champion open? I may try and stop by after I get off work at 6 to see it. If its as small as you say I may give up my spot.

just got back from the test drive (see my separate thread, I hate to cluster this thread) and the car is what I remember it to be since Long Beach if not more, I'm small so the low CoG makes it feel like it's made for me. I have to go to Dallas for the good part of the week, Jon was too nervous to have my car as display model because he said he couldn't replace it. But seeing that most active forum members in Austin already seen it, I don't feel too bad putting it in my garage tomorrow.
Good news for you all, they are getting another one on the 25th. Not sure what color or transmission but Jon said in definite tone so if you're #1 on the list, get ready |

to each his own, but i wouldn't call it small, it's bigger than the Miata, i'll call it slim, like a set of new leather gloves, it takes a day or two to fit perfectly.

Oh, yeah.
I meant to say tiny in a good way. Not too small, not too big. |

on serious note though i'm a small guy so i can't be a good indication of size to be perfectly honest. @bigsolo: it's inside on the display floor and for those interested, I'm receiving the car tomorrow at 10:30 am so after that it won't be there |

Thanks @luxmn I'm 5'11" and bigger than some of you other guys and yes you're right the car is like a glove. I loved my "5 minute experience" with the car, oh I could've just stayed and slept in it forever lol. I now understand the tiny in a good way phrase, it's a sporty car. I can't wait for mine thanks again Lux.
