Thanks for the response. Fortunately I don't pay for track time, so it's a little less of a concern for me. Not to mention driving a near-stock BRZ isn't a huge thrill for me, so it's not like I feel an urge to be out there a ton.

Sounds like a faster car may be a better match for you than a BRZ.

Overall the BRZ is a great car for me. My priorities are not only on-track performance. Sure, I'd love to put a ton of money into the car (AP Sprint, JRSC, V3s, etc.) but it's just not that important to me relative to other areas of life. It's still plenty of fun on the track, just not what it could be.

Thanks for the reminder, David. I have always enjoyed the limiting factor being the car, not me. Well, at least that's been my goal. I could probably be a better driver by learning on a better-performing car, but I certainly don't want to be the guy with a fast car getting passed by someone in a much lesser-performing vehicle.

The BRZ/FRS is quite capable. There are a couple tweaks that can be done to preserve what's already there, however, knowing how to exploit the strengths of the BRZ/FRS is actually a little difficult. That is a whole other topic we can touch base on in the future, but having the JR kit (this is a JR topic...lol) has its merits in cutting down the weakness of the car and potentially making it a strength.

Everything is a balance, but more importantly, the driver is what needs to be trained to extract the car's potential.

I'd love to hear what you have to say on this. I consider it a pretty easy/intuitive car to drive at the limit. Certainly easier to ride the edge of control than in other cars I've spent time with on track.

Pushing the car to the perceived limit is meant to be easy with this platform; that's why it's so fun and rewarding to drive!

Maximizing the potential of the car typically requires you to revisit the basics, and really think about what you are doing. For example, it's easy to WOT through turns, but if you're WOT, then you probably overbraked...

Which track is this? WSIR, BW, CVR, ACS, MRLS, etc. all have 91, 100, 110 octane available on site...

We recommend a small mix of 100 octane with 91 in the tank to help bump the octane up a bit. If you get a bad batch of 91, this will help mitigate some of those issues.

Easy car to drive in general, but the limit on the BRZ/FRS is actually very high. It's easy to drive up to 70% of what it's capable of...almost a little too easy, which is a testament on how well it was designed. The last 30% is where most people fail to extract. Like the AE86, the BRZ/FRS does teach you driving skills that are not that easily acquired on other platforms.
