I totally understand your apprehension so I won't get defensive. I too have seen some pretty tacky interiors. My plans don't quite follow what you stated above. I will be reserving the blue to the stereo surround (which I will mold into one piece before painting) and flowing into the gauge cluster surround. Not the hood but the part directly surrounding the gages. The lines flow nicely to form one color block. I will also do the door pulls in blue but that is it. I think a colored dash works even better in an interior that already has a strong secondary color like the seats and stitching on the Series.Blue than it would if that was the only color in the car.

The pillars surrounding the A/C controls, the vents, shifter surround, and the piece in the steering wheel I have already painted a flat black. After buffing and wiping down with detailer it turned a nice textured satin. I would say the finish turned out better than the black pieces from Japanparts that are really just unpainted molded plastic. The Ts parts would have been the nicest but they are more than I wanted to spend and are also a dark anthracite color instead of black.

I will also be going for gold wheels and i think the blue dash will have a similar effect of the overall look as the wheels and will compliment each other nicely. I think the end result is a look that is not as "high-end" not quite as sophisticated, and maybe even a little less impressive but is more ostentatious, more playful, more in your face, and more fun. I think I will enjoy that look and it will set my car apart from others.

Here is some pics as the car is now. @adamg and @Rota I'm curious to hear what you think.

I'm really digging how the gold plasti dip turned out on your wheels. Kudos! Also nice shift knob... it matches well!

JPM Coachworks can custom stitch any of their items in blue. In fact, they can do anything you specify as far as color and material choices. Just call them to work out the details.

Gotta admit, I love the shift knob and the wheels. I'm genuinely interested as to how you got such a good gold color. I've seen some attempts that have ended up looking terrible.

To each their own, I don't think it would look terrible but that's not saying I would want that much blue in my interior.

Oh it's you again... Haven't even seen one in person have you?

Pictures make it look like crap, it looks far better in person.

Regardless, adding blue to the dash is going to be like adding the silver back. A very big FUCK NO to that as the silver glared the hell out of me on the test drive on the 2013. The nav screen is bad enough on some days...
