Aw, that's shitty. I didn't know that. Oh well.

Would they even be able to tell that you used it in a car?

On Amazon reviews there are plenty of people who put them in cars did something stupid like jumping it with an other car too many times and killed the battery and shorai replaced it. But that's all taken with a grain of salt of course. I just ordered my battery tender just to be safe.

Most likely they will ask what the battery was used in if you try and warranty it. I suppose you could look up an application the Shorai battery you're using is approved for and lie about it.

Just checking in...

Cranked up the car this morning, it was 30 degrees here. The car sat for two weeks and I put a tender on it and it showed the battery at ~75% charge. Before I bedded my car down for the winter, I was able to start the car in temps as low as 10F. It took a while to crank but it worked. Battery is still awesome.

This weekend I cranked my car for the first time in over a month. Fired right up. Still don't know what the limit on this little 3 pounder is...

Hey Anthony, I'm going to be ordering the same battery as you and I'm curious what extra bits I'll need to get it hooked up to the stock cables.

I'll be fabricating the mount, I'm just not sure what is necessary to get the cables connected.

What would you recommend?

BTW, amazing build!

Thanks! I'm not sure what you're talking about in reference to cables, though. The battery cables hook directly to the brass terminals I bought separately from the battery.

These are the exact terminals I bought: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002ZR4UC/"]Amazon.com: Brass SAE Automotive Battery Terminal Set for Hawker Odyssey Batteries: Automotive[/ame]

Cool. I just realized I misread your post. I thought you were asking how the cables hooked to the battery bracket. My brain just added an extra word in there.

But yeah, you'll be super happy with this battery. I was kind of apprehensive when I bought it, but it's been extremely reliable for my purposes. I'll probably get a 5 pounder for my DD, next time it needs a new battery.

It sounds like it's been very reliable for you. Do you use any kind of battery tender?

Nope. I bought one when I got the battery, and it's still new in the box over a year later.

This thread was the inspiration to have a custom try made for my car with help from my friend's shop, Groundscore Fabworks here in portland.

Turned out superb!

Butt dyno picked up the difference immediately.
