You want the compression as soft as possible and the rebound stiff so the car squats on launch and stays down the front you want the opposite, you want it to lift so it transfers weight and stays up to keep it on the rear.

If the rear end squats that means that the rear springs/shocks are not pushing the rear tires into the ground. They are just compressing. For the most part you don't want the rear to squat because you want some resistance from the springs/shocks to transfer the force/weight to the tires. Look at really quick drag cars, the rear doesn't move, the front lifts and settles.

This.

You want load to transfer to the rear tires up as quickly as possible. Rear shocks resisting compression achieve exactly that.

I've also had similar experience at autocross. Looseness at corner exit was improved by going up in rear compression.

I mean I went from a 1.9 to a 1.77 60ft by doing exactly what I said so...... Most shocks even set to full soft won't compress with zero resistance. It also depends if you're running slicks or radials, slicks have a really soft sidewall so that helps in aiding weight transfer which would explain why full drag cars can run stiffer shock settings.

I saw your Sig, was wondering if you had or have any gearbox issues?

None that have been power related yet.

What tire size do u guys run in the rear? I was thinking of going with 16x8 rims and a smaller rolling diameter than stock for better gearing

Best e/t, it's only a 1/8 mile but hopefully I will get out to a 1/4 mile track soon. Stock frs, stock wheels/tires, no weight reduction in fact probably an additional 10lbs of stuff was in it.
This was my first time out to a drag strip. I'm not sure how well I did but looking around it seems like this is pretty decent for stock.

First run ever with my BRZ Turbo

First run ever with my SBD Turbo BRZ. Mods include SBD turbo, Nameless 2.5" FP/OP combo, Tomei 3" cat-back, 18X9.5" with 265/35/18 Michelin PSS, Fortune Auto 510's.

I had some big problems with launching and need to learn some things about how to launch. I would spin all the way through first but grab good in second.

First run of the night
2.8800 60'
14.8699 1/4 mile
100.94 MPH

Second run of the night
2.5521 60'
15.0118 1/4 mile
98.04 MPH

Third run of the night
2.6830 60'
14.8930 1/4 mile
97.88 MPH

Last run of the night
2.6980 60'
14.6920 1/4 mile
98.69 MPH

Drags were in Guam on a most likely not perfect track in about 85* weather.
