Motor has to be same model year or newer. It's mostly because the law is designed to prevent you from, say, putting a truck motor into a car and smogging it as a trust, or putting in an older motor and grandfathering old standards onto a new car. [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_emission_standards"]United States emission standards - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame] http://www.epa.gov/otaq/standards/light-duty/index.htm Some of the above schedules are based on vehicle MY, others are based on mileage. As mentioned already, CA standards are the strictest so if you follow CA smog standards, then you'll be covered in the other 49 states. -alex |

As long as it will pass cursory inspection and smog, I'm fine with whatever. I had considered doing a ford ecoboost 3.5. twin turbo v6. They're bullet proof and make 365 hp and 420lb ft dead nuts stock..and there's hundreds of thousands of them out there from f150s. The only problem with that is cross platform in cali... Jaden |

Firstoff weīll handle this topic for our region (Central europe, TUV etc.) However, we also can imagine to cooperate with partner(s) in the US, with regards to distribution, installation and legal topics as road homologation. But those topics are still quite far away... Letīs see what the future brings! |

looking forward to seeing results.
And to all of you worrying about engine swaps in california, wouldn't it just be simpler to stop electing communists? Problems solved... |

First proper testdrives done in over the last 2 days.
Car is incredibly fast, especially considering that we are still extremely safe with boost, ignition & fuel mixture. Also there still is the OEM N/A muffler on the car Expect some 300-310-ish hp and ar 400+ Nm currently the amount of available torque over the complete range and especially the response is breathtaking.... repeatedly felt the need to doublecheck if it really was the 4th gear and not second which I was in...... It always was 4th. Now what Iīm interested in, is there any section on here whith some serious GPS plots of 100-200 acceleration for truboīd & supercharged FA20dīs on the forum somewhere? Iīve done a quick measruement with some slow ass shifting. Especially considering that this is just the initial safe version, honestly I am pretty impressed, and much more than only optimistic with regards to the future potential. Thereīs some seriously nasty fast car in that little BRZ results can be seen here. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Speedheads-Performance/1521882101399227?sk=about§ion=work over the next week we will finalise the mapping for the V1 package, meaning full OE performance (300 hp, 400 Nm). based on this some extensive testing of the car will be carried out. looking forward to offer the complete package (incl. every single component and a full installation manual) in something about 1-2 months from now. prices will also be worked out during that period, as per now we only have the "oneoff costs" which Iīd better not post |
