I'd really recommend the 70D then. 7fps vs 4.5fps. Has wi-fi, but unfortunately no GPS. ISO up to 12800 (You'll be hard pressed to need anything higher than 6400). Far superior autofocus system; 19 point all cross type vs. 11 point only 1 cross type (center). Honestly, the only thing it tops the 70D on is the full frame sensor and GPS if you really care about GPS that much.

I really wanted to like the 6D when it came out, but they cut the budget on it waaaay too much.

As for the whole video thing, Canon still leads on that front. Granted Nikon might have better continuous autofocus, but most intermediate to hardcore videographers prefer manual focusing their lenses with some sort of follow focus system.

My T2i can do 6400 and 12800 ISO, the 6D does 25600 without dipping into the expanded range, and will do 102400 expanded. I've had enough cases where 6400 wasn't enough to want a much higher range, plus if it can do a much higher range you'll get less noise at 6400 than a camera that maxes out there.

The 7DII looks interesting, but it's lacking in ISO and I can't seem to find anything that confirms if it has wifi.

Interesting. I never found myself needing that high of an ISO. Granted, you're right in that having a higher available ISO means lower ISO settings will be cleaner, but in most cases, if you're in that 6400+ range, I'd recommend using a speed light.

In any case, the bottom line is the 6D offers little in ways of tech advancements over the 70D or 7D Mk2. It's a weird little intermediary step that doesn't quite make it up to 5D standards, but doesn't offer enough to justify the cost of full frame and full frame lenses.

I'd only have to replace the 17-85. 50mm 1.8 and 70-200 F4L are both EF mounts already. I'm considering replacing the 17-85 with a 24-105 and 10-22 anyway, so it's not a real concern.

Fair enough, just wanted to give you a heads up that full frame isn't all the jazz it's made out to be. Unless you really, really need that bump in performance, you're looking at a body that costs $800 more than the 70D's and lenses that are double the price of equivalent EF-S models.

There are some definite advantages to going full frame, but in most circumstances, those are designed for higher-end shooting and are often unutilized. More often than not, a photographer's skills will bottleneck before their kit does, and this margin can make the difference between dropping thousands of dollars on equipment you don't need and spending that money on lenses or universal tools like tripods and speedlights.

Sorry if I'm coming off a bit strong against full frame; it's just that I've had a number of friends make the plunge into full frame in order to take the exact same photos they were taking before albeit with slightly higher resolution and slightly higher quality. I had a similar debate with myself a while back and I just couldn't convince myself that I'd need the extra performance from going full frame unless I was making money off of my photos (which I no longer am).

To me, the cost difference between the 70D and 6D is less than one good lens, so it's not as big of a concern. It'll be a while before I upgrade anyway (lenses first), so by then the 90D, 7DIV and 6DIII will be out

Well if you're looking that far down the line, I recommended aiming for the 5D Mk3. Go big or go home!

Quick edit. Not 100% happy with the results, but I was shooting with my friend's sister's Canon Rebel T3i (Something or other) & didn't look up how to switch it to shoot in raw.
Should've had my Nikon that day. Hah!

Question, if you don't mind me asking, do you like that Sigma 150-500mm? Judging from the video it looks like it may be better used for pictures than video. I do like the video you posted though.
