I'm trying to hardwire my escort radar detector and there is no power going to the unused connector that is for the Brz powered rear view mirror. Does anyone with a Brz know where the fuse is? It would really help me out.

+1 I followed this DIY and after about 2 seconds the fuse on the valentine power block, the thing where you plug in the phone cord, blew and afterwards the connector doesn't seem to have power. It still works using the cigarette lighter adapter so I guess I'm doing that until i can figure this out.

Still no power to the rear view mirror harness but i noticed something interesting, the DRL no longer run. So I checked the fuses both under the hood and under the dash, unless the fuse is on something totally unrelated I haven't found one that has blown. still no luck in getting power back to either

Did you ever figure this problem out HotSauce?
As for the pictures, i took this after the fact so, there is electrical tape covering the connector. Pry from the rear forward, it will come out very easily, i disconnected the dome light to allow more room with less interference, then like Doc said, reach around the dome light well for that unused connector, he used U-shaped connectors, i just tapped into the wire and added quick disconnects ( i dont plan on ever needing that harness anyway). NOTE: I would HIGHLY recommend feeding the wire through the gap at the windshield BEFORE wiring, i did not and had quite a time trying to force the thicker end of the wire (where the adapter is) through that gap. Thanks to Doc for the DIY, that how i did mine

I rewired the radar detector down the passenger pillar to the glove box plug in and removed all wires from the other attempt, and still no DRL or power mirror functionality. However the high beams still work so its more of an issue of the power mirrors not adjusting if anyone else were to drive my car.

Hey, just wanted to say thanks so much! I tried this today and it worked!
My V-1 had been plugged into my ACC port next to the driver's side and it was fine for about 6 months then when I went on vacation and came back I plugged it in and it kept blowing fuses for some reason. I plugged it into the one in the glove box and that one blew too... so I was going to hardwire it and maybe send it in for repairs thinking there was a short in the V-1. Since this wire isn't used I figured hey why not try it! For reference, I used blue crimp connectors (like this: https://dlnmh9ip6v2uc.cloudfront.net...591d000000.JPG) which you can get for $1 at Lowe's. Sadly, I bought the crimper with it thinking I needed it but you really don't even need to cut the u or crimp anything. Just jam the "u" into the back of the plug where the wire meets the adapter and isolate the negative and positive leads. It was tough because I had to fiddle with it in order to get both connected properly, so the battery had to be connected. Also, I needed to strip down the wires that I got from the V-1 hardwire kit in order to connect to those crimp junctions. Maybe if I used the crimper I wouldn't have to wrap the wires around the other prong and tape it up! =( Anyway, thanks!

Just wanted to bump this in case anyone was having this same issue with blowing this fuse after installing their radar detector in the headliner. Replacing the 10a ACC ECU fuse fixed the mirrors and drl
