what happens is that the shop should have done "blend" job and i am sure they got paid for it. call your insurance and complain about it

I appreciate the opinions on this. Im gonna fight this with the dealer first then take it up with my insurance. I going to get the whole thing redone if its possible.

Im really disappointed...and its partly my fault. I really wanted my car when it went in, and it took 3 weeks to get it. When I got it back i was super excited i didn't pay attention to the body work. After a couple of months and washes here and there i started noticing the color difference.

Time to get this fixed, wish me luck.

This is my first accident ever; and to my ignorant self sought that no other body shop could do a better job than the original dealer. ooo boy was I wrong.

over the past couple months I've been noticing my new fender and bumper & they are both slightly darker than the rest of the car. I asked a buddy of mine to see his input, and he told me "that's as good as it gets, it will never be the same". I find that painful and hard to believe.

Now I will ask some of you guys what your input on the screen shots. Can the paint job be done better if I take it to a better body shop? or this as good as it gets? Im don't mind paying out of pocket to get it to look how it was before, I just want to know if its possible.

All comments are appreciated, thanks.
Had the same exact accident on my 86 6 months ago.(same damage as well)

The match is perfect. So i would say go look for someone else to do a better job.

Just reference the insurance estimate

There will be some lines that allot some hours for blending panels. Which they obviously haven't done.

Take it in to a respectable repair shop and asks them what they think, and how better they can match. Don't take it back to the same shop.

a lot of places have a lifetime warranty on body/paint work, therefore, you'd just have to go back and tell them you're not happy w/it and have them fix it.

I can tell from the photos that the fender looks darker. My front bumper got repainted and they did a piss poor job on it; I'm getting it re-done, but not by the same shop because they said they'd have to blend the hood and fenders, which is bullshit because the car was two months off the boat from Japan when it happened.

This, the car is new enough to not require blending...

No Way

1st off. I would of went ape Shit. Lone story but, have to tell it...
I just bought a 2015 White BRZ. I have known all the guys and the Owner at Subaru since 1999. Great people, Anyway, they know how I am with my Cars. I keep the Immaculate......

So, When I picked my Car up at the dealer which was around 7:30 at night so getting dark and noticed the next morning, there were scratches on the front bottom bumper where the points come out in the center,,,,,

Well, the guy who delivered it, scratched it while unloading it and tried to touch it up. I went nuts when I seen it. Actually my 8 yr old pointed it out 1st.....
Most people probably wouldn't of even noticed it. but Subaru said they will fix it. Well after 2 days they called me and said the could not match the satin white so they sent it to a custom body shop.

A friggn week it took so I picked it back up at the subaru dealer and the whole front of the bumper was off from the headlights about 2 inches. I didn't know they were taking the whole damn bumper off and reprinting the whole thing.
Again, I said. U have to be kidding me so I Take it back to the Body shop my self and they forgot to put 2 major parts that hold the bumper on Sri be the Headlights. I said to the Owner, how can you even let this get out of your shop looking like this. He blamed it on a employee and apologized.......

Wait, here is the Best part. So one of the Employees drives it around where I was standing with the Owner and friggn runs into a cement parking Block and scrapes the whole friggn front and underneath up. !!!!!!
I can't even Tell you the rest. The Owner snapped out at the dude and I am going Crazy so anyway, Subaru ends up giving me a Brand new Bumper and Gave me the old one.
Take your Car back and tell them u don't want to see it again until it is MINT condition or I'll give u my Laywers Number. That is unbelievable. People today don't give 2 shits once they get your money.
Good Luck !

First if you have not paid yet dont pay! Or get your money back.

That is the pigments where not to factory spec when mixing paint thats more of someone grabbed red pigment put it in the gun and sprayed.

Second bumpers or plastic panels will always be a touch darker unless compensated for. But that is 100% unacceptable.

They need to fix it the repair is not done the car is not back to factory spec.

Any painter that saw that would think a blind armless monkey mixed that.

I have done painting in my autobody program it only takes a few grams of pigment can throw the colour off.

What they mean by lifetime means their repair will be covered till the untouched panels go bad. Crappy work cant be claimed as the only thing wrong is the colour.
