Okay, just to be clear, once I've got the Phantom ESC installed...Having the BPB installed as well is moot (I'd have the exact same performance as NOT having them in? Or whatever gains are so negligible as to be not felt at all?).

I ask because if so, I'll uninstall the blocks and sell them and put the money towards upgrades that WILL work in cooperation with the Phantom.

Thanks.

You are correct. I would suggest selling them if you plan on keeping the ESC

Shiv reported that his dyno run showed that the power blocks increased power very slightly in the 6-6.5k rpm range, but a lost in power everywhere else.

If you PM'd him, you're on the list. He will likely not reply until it's near time to pay/ship your kit.

Great to see that more ESC's will soon be in the hands of anxious owners.

Good time, I think to comment on my experience. I'm now at the 6 month mark of ownership. Aside from an initial issue with the harness, corrected super-promptly by Rob, it's performed flawlessly.

First month or so, I was ESC crazy. "Let's see how it pulls this hill", "Let's see how it goes down this hill", "Let's see how fast I can pass that truck", just hitting it all day, every day.

But now ... it's just great knowing that it's there. I engage it when needed, not even with a thought, just hit the gas and boom ... I'm out of that traffic mess. It's only after its done its job that I think "Wow, thank God I've got this thing".

Haven't yet made the move to a e85 and a flex fuel kit, but that has more to do with simply being happy with finally finding a 93 octane that doesn't screw with the DI's. Think I'll make the switch in the spring when I bring the car out of hibernation.

I've made a lot of mods to this car, and I'm happy with every one of 'em, but, no question, the ESC was the best money spent.

TQ300 fact finding mission

Hi FT86Club!

We spent some time on the dyno today with the mythical TQ300 and 6K controller. Just like any other dyno day, things do not always go as planned. On the first "Stock" run with the supercharger removed my car threw the P0351 Coil pack one code. We are suspecting that the coil pack on the fritz has introduced some issues with the top end (Code would always come on above 6500-7000rpm). Although i wasn't datalogging(DOH!) i am also guessing that timing is being pulled a bit on the top. Looks like i will have to work a little more with @Shiv@Openflash on dialing in things a little more.

All in all we are very happy with the results once a couple of those gaps get filled in

All runs using 94octane. End results were 222hp and 193wtq which proved to be a big jump over where we were last year(red TQ250 line)

I apologize in advance, these runs were with wheel speed not engine RPM. Their engine RPM was not working correct. I have used the stock run so you can see where the dip normally is.

Lastly VS the pitiful stock run last time we were on the dyno!

@fenton Great work man!

It's really holding the top end. Also, +78WTQ in the dip is nothing to sneeze at. I can see how continued tune development smooth things out. I have no doubt that we'll see 240WHP+ and 210 WTQ on e85 in California. Can't wait till next summer (or earlier hopefully)
