Of course it does. It's there for that reason, and in the case of a dead battery.

It's mechanical like a door lock so I'd hope so lol

Installed Tomei UEL header and flashed Stage 2 UEL 93 Oct tune with OFT. (Couldn't wait any longer for the OFH....sorry Shiv! ) Also a couple days ago, I picked up a Perrin silicone inlet hose from @TheseColorsDontRun and installed.

Ordered a Stivo spoiler and put together an appointment to have my trunk touched up.

On a side note... The factory tires aren't very predictable in the wet..

Did you need to unbolt the front pipe/mid pipe joint to push the overpipe off of the OEM header studs?

It makes it a lot easier.
Sometimes just unbolting the front pipe off the hanger is enough to push it back far enough.

Couple days late, but finally bought and installed a Borla catback I do need to loosen everything up and see if I can line the tips up better... driver side sticks out more than the passenger side. Guess that's what I get for installing it in the dark since I was too impatient to wait until the weekend.

Love the sound. Deeper, disappears when you cruise on the highway, not raspy; I think it suits the car much better than the stock dying sewing machine sound. It's noticeable, but doesn't attract a bunch of attention. I can totally understand someone thinking it's not enough or that it sounds too close to stock, but I didn't want everyone in a 1 mile radius to know every time I go over 4000 RPM.

How's it running now with the tune?

I figured as such, I'll try just unbolting that front pipe bracket when I do my header.

I'm trying to avoid breaking any studs off. Mine only have some light surface rust but exhaust stuff is my least favorite part of any vehicle since it always seems to seize or break, haha.

At first I just tried to sneak it off without unbolting it but no such luck!

Unbolted the front pipe from the mid pipe and took it off the hanger and supported it from dropping too far. That gave me enough room to get the manifold off the car.

Runs real nice! Butt dyno's happy, nothing crazy dramatic though but certainly worth it! Other than a bit loud during cold start, volume wise it's hard to tell I have a header except for the UEL boxer "rumble". The rest of my exhaust is stock (except for the tips...couldn't keep the dinky stockers!)

I'm glad to hear it's not overly loud with the stock catback. Thanks!

Also, a 14mm crows foot will be your best friend when installing the new header. The 2 inner flange nuts are in a tight spot and no matter what combo of wobble head and socket I tried, I couldn't quite get to it, crows foot worked perfectly. FYI, Harbor Junk has a metric set for $9.99.

Did you have access to a lift for the install? I'm planning to do mine soon but have never touched any part of the exhaust before.

About how many hours should a beginner expect to take for this?

Also wondering which gaskets I will be needing..

Thanks

Gave her a bath and installed the Helix smoked side markers. Really cleans up the look compared to the orange stockers.
