I was finally able to pin point and replicate the popping in my tune. I can reproduce it every time now. I'll be getting a log to you as soon as I can.

can you do a video of this popping? when does it happen? friend of mine had popping at around 3k rpm when he did full throttle and it was the DI seal.

I get popping after maintaining a high rpm, clutching in, and trying to free-rev. It's no DI, it's a rich condition causing the popping. Scares the shit out of me because I think DI seal failure, but in reality it's a rich blip. Sometimes happens when downshifting after revving down.

In that case, that's entirely explainable. In addition to what the factory does to prevent DI seal failure, we also dump fuel between shifts to help keep everything cool. This does result in backfires that are obviously noticeable audibly, but your car is actually safer. Just imagine how terrified you'd be if you were catless and shooting fireballs instead! On the turbo cars this also helps keep the turbo spooled, a primitive form of anti lag if you will.

Oh cool. My car pops everyone once in a while too when shifting. Mainly when driving from a cold start. Does this mean then that I would shoot flames too if I was catless?

Yep! And yes, that's because on cold starts your car runs through a rich cycle to heat up the cats.

The only problem I have with this is that it seems to kill the engine's ability to rev from a low point. If I let it drop and I mash it she pops and gurgles and almost refuses to rev. I can obviously smack the go pedal harder if that's all that's needed.

I will try to get some logs and maybe we can compare the throttle input to the revs and you can see I'm not just making this up lol. I saw AFRs in the low 10's when she was popping so I know the tune is doing it, not a hardware failure so that puts me at ease.

Yeah, if you didn't have any catalytic converters it would shoot the odd fireball. Mine pops and gurgles on downshifts but the fun stuff happens on WOT redline shifts. At higher boost you can feel the explosion in the seat of your pants

You would select this product:

You will need a license and then select the region your vehicle is located in so we can create the correct file for it.

Also add in any additional features you would like to the tune.

What version of the Flash and Go map are you on? We are working on a pretty extensive revision right now which we hope to have out in the coming weeks.

Fixes a lot of the smaller issues, drivability, startup, between shifts, etc...
