OP, congrats on the purchase. Enjoy the car first, then mod it as you get use to it. This site is very resource. Perform your searches first because more than likely the basic questions have been covered already.

This forum is full of ignorant responses like that.

Congrats on the new car. Good move going for the Subaru over the Scion. It's worth the extra few Ks in my opinion.

Learn to drive first... no point modding it out w/ all this crap if you can't drive it properly. Spend some time w/ it stock, and go from there. What do you want to do w/t he car? do you want to track it? what kind of track? before you mode, be aware that there are different classes on the track and your mods will put you up against much better drivers.

If it's just a street daily driver, be aware that your mods may make it unreliable and/or void warranty, and some mods carry the risk of very expensive repairs. Hope you have deep pockets, or your parents have deep pockets.

OFT will give you 10-15 WHP peak and 10-15TQ peak. More importantly, the car will drive better and the engine will rev smoother. I agree with the poster above me. Drive the car stock. Go do an Auto cross event. Drive it on some twisty roads. Enjoy the car first as intended. You will know what you want/need based on your driving needs.

skip the intake. Just get a drop in filter and remove the noise generator. For exhaust, get an axle back if you are looking for better sound.

What is the benefit of removing the noise generator also?

do you know its not easy to gain 20-30 whp?
especially for auto trans as well.

since you already got auto, i would just mod exterior and interior and leaving out engine mod.

OP, don't listen to the people talking down on your auto. This auto is not like autos in other cars. Most of the people who diss on the auto have never even driven one, so they're talking out their ass. My apologies to the person I quoted if you actually drove one and still feel the same. Although if you really pushed the car hard, you would know the auto is a capable option.

I've driven manuals for 30 years and bought the auto because it performs on the track better than the manual. Click the picture of our car in my signature for stuff to do on an auto and listen to the people who tell you to drive the car before modding. We track our at and it's not lowered yet. It's very capable in stock form.

Congrats and enjoy!
