Alrigthty. Let's try to do second week of September. More time for us to get a small group together. No worries about new people. We were all new at one point. The more people play, the quicker they get up to speed.

I also totally nerded out and bought one of these...

Nope, but that's easy. We can hit up Game Kastle in Fremont. They are pretty chill. It's comfortable, clean, and has food/drinks for sale.

the second weekend is fine with me. GIves us more time to get interest. Plus gives me time to remember how to play. Lol

hey guys

this thread brought a whole bunch of nostalgia

I have a question

what was the name of the build, or the build's creator, back in 2001-2003, it was deck with mostly blue and artifict cards that could essentially win from turn 1

it relied on a recycling principle where you essentially keep digging through your deck for cards that allowed you to keep digging for more cards until you dig up all the right pieces and go on this never ending recycling path whereby you deal damage equal to cards discarded..

one of the players in my local group once managed to declare something stupid like 234 damage to the player at the end of his first turn... (he had many proxies though since the deck was made up of some rare stuff at the time).

If you have dual lands from Alpha, Beta, Unlimited, or Revised... I hear they go for a pretty penny these days...

You should just play. There may have been some rule changes, but... a lot of the cars in the cube are all over the history of Magic.

Sounds like Tolarian Academy/Memory Jar combo. The win condition was Memory Jar + Megrim, made possible by Tolarian Academy + cheap artifacts (Mox Diamond, Grim Monolith, etc).

What formats do you guys like to play? Constructed? Draft? Cube? EDH?

Any other takers on cubing?

Also... if anyone wants to learn how to play, don't be shy! Everyone starts somewhere!

I like casual constructed. Just fun decks that adhere to the basic restricted/banned list.

Did we determine what day the cube is happening?
