Wait a minute...can't we just install the headlight brackets with the fog bezel removed so that theres a huge hole for you to put your arms throught and tighten the the headlight bracket area down.
That way you can install the bumper with the brackets already on there for perfect alignment. ..but then this method will theoretically work only on install and the more you remove the bumper the more wear and tear the brackets will get. I just thought of this and Im going to try this tomorrow...having this issue on my passenger side. wish me luck @_@ Last edited by Vic; 08-18-2014 at 11:18 PM. |

well from what i see its usually the headlight brackets not holding the bumper in so the sides pop out, even if the sides marker arear holds the tabs in then the area near the headlights will tend to pop out. For my method I was just basically saying to install the bumper with the headlight brackets already snapped into the bumper cover. then youll reach in through the fog light hole to tighten down the bolts. It sounds like a pain in the ass tho... Im pretty sure for 50/50 of us its the alignment of the brackets thats causing this because I installed headlights on @Midarete's frs and aligned it perfectly and that didnt happen. but not doubt that its a poor design flaw. I'll try tmw and give feedback! |

You would have to mold a flare on both the bumper and bracket for small bolts. Even then, the molded extension would probably break.

This is my solution for the bumper. Hopefully they'll get it into production shortly.

I'm sure it will be a hot seller due to all the chin additions the twins have (lips, body kits, splitters etc.). Those additions cause weight and wind pull that will eventually cause separation gaps (not to mention all the chins that scraped on driveways etc.). Almost all that I see with those accessories have the gap, those that don't may soon have the gap. Iff'n you need another frozen northern volunteer - i'm in. CERBERUS |

Bumper not lining up near fender?
Like most of you I took my bumper off to install some goodies and for the life of me could not get it to properly align in the sides.
I then took it off several more times to try to reposition it and all attempts failed. I then saw a post for "revised" bumper supports that were in a Subaru TSB that had revised part numbers and thought that was the solution. I purchased them all, installed everything and while it wasn't perfect, it was improved. Well improved wasn't good enough for me. I got tired of pushing on the bumper for it to momentarily be perfect then walk around the corner for it to pop back out of place. I took a trip to Home Depot and purchased 1/4" threaded rod, 1/4" washers and hex nuts. That resolved the issue for me. I used what I saw in the photos from post 138 http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...&postcount=138
