Mini-me BRZ
I bought a 'mini-me' of my DGM BRZ - a 1/27 scale kyosho mini-z RC car. not cheap, but a lot more fun than a static model, and it's pretty darn detailed. i bought different wheels and mounted them on there to better match my own car. license plate is photoshopped.
http://www.kyoshoamerica.com/MINI-Z-...k_p_23231.html you guys who own DGM BRZs NEED one of these. they also come in WRB: https://www.kyosho.com/eng/products/...duct_id=109422.

However, the result WAS insanely bad-ass. The entire car went from being plastic to machined, billet aluminum, (including real bearings and u-joints.) Even the wheels were machined aluminum. As a result the car ran SO smoothly, and a lot of the slop in the steering went away. Also gave it a bit more mass, which helped stability a lot because I also put in a V2 board, Li-Ion batteries, a FatBoy motor and a limited-run heatsink with a CPU fan on it, which meant modifying the body. I had to use an EVO body because it was the only one big enough to clear all the added internals. Then I modified three light sets together to make the headlights and tail-lights light up properly. All said and done, it had a top speed of about 50 MPH, and was a hilarious toy to whip out for my friends. It was so small, people's minds were always blown by how fast it was. Only problem was the gears for the AWD system were still plastic, so it had the tendency to shave a tooth on occasion, lol. And now I shall nerd out with some photos of the end result, lol. Before: After: Dremeled out roof with screen mesh for cooling fan: Really crappy picture showing some of the aluminum parts and the batteries, and the huge CPU-style heatsink at the back. I kind of want another one now... |
