I think I may have to wipe the dust off of my multimeter and do some ohm measurements as well. I know that the LEDs have SIGNIFICANTLY less resistance than incandescent bulbs. Now I'm curious by just how much.

Well everyone, here is my report...

I changed my switchbacks back to stock and my DRLs. Since apparently I didn't keep my reverse light stock bulbs I simply disconnected them. No change.

So I started talking through it with my wife and she noticed that my problems really started around the time I got gas from Sam's Club last week. Interesting she would recall that little detail but got me thinking.

Since I still had a little less than a half tank of that gas, I drove down to Autozone, picked up the STP octane booster and went to my usual Shell gas station. I put in the booster, topped it off with 93 and took it for a 75 mile drive.

Summary, the car is running noticeably better but will occasionally seem to lose power especially at around 1/3 throttle. I have noticed that my short term and long term fuel trims are all over the place while looking at them in real time. So far the only theories that fit are malfunctioning fuel pump, or bad gas that may have clogged a fuel filter. Still, like I said, the car is overall running better.

As soon as the weather improves, I will burn through the remainder of the tank on the highway and see how it goes. My hunch is telling me that it will be much better by the time this tank is empty and I refill it.

so today i finally figured out what causes this on my car at least. i noticed that if i jiggle the brake pedal with my hand my brake lights come on but are very dim. this is why the car goes into limp mode. what i did was i twisted the brake switch under the steering wheel column counter clockwise and pushed it in all the way. there is a tsp for the brake switch assembly. hope this solves everyones problem.
