Thanks for the tip. I guess this would make a difference. Every help counts. Detaching front license plate decreased max cooland temp from 104c to 102c for me. I will update if I have a chance to measure difference.

Wool tuft testing should suffice.

The engine bay should be slightly pressurized from air coming in through the radiator/condenser. Through our CFD research, it appears that the area around the vents are near ambient air pressure. I would think these vents function.
Well executed. I have been wanting to something like this but my balls aren't nearly large enough to cut into my new car. |

Why is the grill opening solid in the model? Are the underbody panels in the model?

The big question is where does the air go from the grill to determine if the side vents would work. I guess your CFD model doesn't address that. Need to know if most of the air go out the bottom or out the trailing edge of the hood?
If most of the air goes out the bottom, the side vents probably won't do anything. If there is a low pressure area behind the trailing edge of the hood, it might just draw through the side vents and straight out the trailing edge of the hood, also making them useless. The quickest way to determine if the vents work or not is to wire up a couple of thermocouples just on the inside of the vent and also wire up one to measure the outside air temp. If the vent TC measures ambient temp, it's pulling air in. If it is higher than the OAT, then it is venting the engine heat. |

Just finished one of my fender trim pieces. I don't have much free time, and the fender isn't prepped yet, but here's a picture...
