The fact that the Celica, Eclipse and Integra/RSX all disappeared (to be replaced by the likes of the 3G/4G Eclipse and the tC) do point to a shift away from small, tossable sport compacts, and towards larger, more "practical" "sporty" tourers. I'm hoping the new Miata is a smash hit - maybe that will provide a shot in the arm to Toyota/Subaru to improve the Twins. |

The Nissan IDx is just butt ugly. If it was out when I bought my BRZ, I wouldn't even have considered it. Even if it was 5-10K less.

What I find interesting is that the North American VP of Product Planning said they can't justify it but the Corporate VP of Product Planning says there's a good chance it will be made. I read that to mean: "We're building it but, as usual, North America probably won't get it"

Haha, was one of these the guy who said the FT86 was "a car for men going through middle-aged crises"?

No actually that was Andy Palmer who is apparently at the top of the food chain, and he's the one who said they would definitely do one of the IDx concepts.

infact, if they cleaned it up it could look like a potential S16 just make it a coupe, light, nimble, and cheap to buy and insure
