OFT+OFH+Perrin drop-in filter... need custom tune?

So... my OFH arrived at home!!! (finally... possibly the first south-american customer so far...?). Im installing it when i get back (2 weeks from now ... sad sad).

I also ordered a Perrin Drop-in filter. Question is... will the off the shelf stg 2 UEL work? or do i need a custom tune just because of the filter?

I know that if you get an intake its needed.. but with just the filter???

Thanks!!

You'll be fine, you shouldn't have to adjust the tune because of the filter at all.

Like he said, you won't need a custom tune. I believe that the car Shiv used to make the tune had the Perrin filter installed (Though I think it also had a modified air duct).

Any which way, you'll be good to go.

You have all the parts we run on our shop car. With your setup you want to run our OTS Stage2 UEL Map and you will be perfectly fine.

You do not need an aftermarket intake. However if you do plan on staying NA I would look into the Crawford BPB as it provides decent gains.

Thanks for the reply and info!!! That BPB sounds good... will see on the long run.

On the same topic as before, would i need a tune if a get an inlet hose replacement? lets say Perrin, Mishimoto, etc..? Are the gains worth it? I dont mind deleting that awfull sound tube either... hehehe.

You will not need a tune if you are changing out your inlet hose just run our stage 1 if you don't have headers and you shouldn't have any issues.

@dejxx is the rest of your exhaust stock? If so, I'm looking at doing the same thing and would like to hear how it sounds, any video clips?

Is it worth getting the inlet hose? Or should I just save up and get OFH?

Inlet hoses are not really worth it until you have nothing else left to do. Definitely put it to the OFH fund. Must bigger improvements going that route.

To clarify then, you guys have built the open flash tunes with the perrin drop in filter? I didn't realize that, I thought it was on the stock filter. Do you think its worth the $40 or whatever it costs to upgrade to the Perrin over stock?
