I sure hope not...I just got the controller back like a week ago

My conversion kit should be here today, not sure why the hell USPS was taking so long. They didn't even update tracking for three days. I will spend tomorrow installing it and during this time I will test all the batteries individually, as well as redo all of the connections and tighten all fittings. They do however look snug though. I'm also going to get a few more logs as rob suggested. I really hope this is just something stupid...Or if it is that fuse that it's replaceable.

USPS botched my delivery pretty badly. Started to return the package to the sender because my mailbox at my new house was installed an hour too late. I saw the USPS truck drive right past me AS I WAS MIXING CEMENT. Assumed that wasn't the right truck. Turns out it was, but because the mailbox wasn't standing up, my home wasn't marked as a deliverable residence and they just drove on by.

I think they're retrying after some long phone calls with them. Didn't want it to go back through Customs two more times...

Probably not, but hearing the "woosh" more clearly would make me happy.

So.. has anyone tried to put the controller somewhere other than in the engine bay to avoid overheating? Tied down somewhere in the cockpit maybe?

The wiring harness is too short between the controller and the compressor, and there are questions about problems with lengthening those wires. Also the power supply wires would have to be run through teh firewall too, and that may require drilling a bigger hole to fit it all. If we could source the connectors or modify the harness we could try it, but to my knowledge nobody has tried it yet.

Just a note about one of the benefits of this system - had a service apt this morning (for tail-light condensation) but don't need a warranty void notice, so I removed the phantom, the control box and most of the wiring in about 10 mins the night before. I left the batteries (the 1.5 pack with cover looks like a normal battery anyway) but put back the sound tube and the airbox resonator.

Someone (Fenton?) said they still had the sound tube hooked up - not sure how that's possible with the Phantom unless you have an earlier intake pipe?

I think he ment he had the "drum" and the sound tube from the drum to the firewall still in place and ran throttle switch wires some other way, but still had to remove the intake pipe between the air filter and the drum.

Ah if that's the case just remove it - there's so much space cleared up. I think I preferred the pre-phantom sound (with tube) and the OFH. But I much prefer the tq/hp of the phantom if I have to pick.

I don't even take that stuff out. I just take the compressor out and put in the stock intake a move the arm switch under the dash. I removed the phantom stickers from the controller and batteries when in for service.

I have my 48,000km service is Friday. 27,000 happy phantom km.
