while that's possible, i think the frameless window was more of a design goal for creating a sexy car like the twins..
just imagine if we had framed windows/doors.. ugly.

I don't drive to look pretty, that's what miatas are for Joking. Has far as the hatchback, people bitch moan, and complain about rattles and squeaks now, can you imagine a 1 year old hatch FRS? If you want a hatch go for a Golf, with RWD the driveshaft and final drive kinda get in the way. I'm glad its a coupe (but to be fair I have a Yaris and couldn't/wouldn't trade it in.)

I don't think this has been mentioned yet, but I hate my hive of crickets. When I am at a stop light, I am not sure the peeps are checking out the car or the fact that I can raise crickets and the car is rated in cricket power instead of horse power.
All new Scion GT 86 Super Deluxe Ultra Mega Your-grandma-thinks-it's-a-Fararri Monogram TRD JDM NON-FI FRS, now with 1950s fins and rated at 2000 Cricket Power! /sarcasm off Yes I know crickets are still a pain point for a lot of folks. But I drown it out with my 12" sub |

Is this the place to mention that I've never had crickets in over a year of ownership with two different FR-S? Seriously I feel bad for you guys that do, there has to be a way to track this down. We should start a poll that list lots of common mods or something that might trip it.

I hate how the LFA isn't a Toyota either.
The Scion name is a bit juvenile. |

When I bought mine, the Toyota dealership told me the only reason it got a scion name in the US because scion needed a flagship model for the us market. I wish mine was the Toyota version, but that can be fixed. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Makes sense. Scion certainly did need a desirable model to sell.

Well I haven't heard the crickets either but males lose high pitch hearing early age if they have a non-office job. I am an audiophile hobbiest and have measured the cricket sound but its too high pitch unless I put my ear to the HPFP. Quote:
There's also a bit of truth to them branding this as a Scion because it doesn't quite live up to Toyota quality and reliability ratings in the US market. Can you imagine Consumer Reports putting a Toyota on a do not buy list. Luckily the CY 2014's are getting very reliable. Toyota is diligent in continuous improvement and while it will never be a Tc or Corolla (its a Subaru) the factory will get their quality ratings up. This is Toyota we are talking about they either win or cut bait and sell-off.

Nothing that I hate about it. Just want a little more power, maybe 50 more hp. and also want to see a convertible version of it

As an aging audiophile with loud music, concerts, and a lifetime of gunfire, my high frequency hearing is definitely down many D.B.'s. I can still hear the crickets though - on other cars. My FRS has been cricket free since day one (ESSO 91 for a few months then SHELL V-Power since). CERBERUS |
