coilovers for cheap??

Hey everybody, just got a set of wheels 18x9.5 running 245/40/18 falken 453s stock ride height and i want to buy a set of coilovers to drop it 2 inches lower. i dont have any pics at the moment because the tires are being mounted on the wheels this week sadly. I dont want to spend more than 900 dollars on coils and i heard about racelands and megan racing coils, both are pretty cheap.

Anybody have experience with these or are running another cheap set?

Let me know what you all think!

btw, I daily drive every season but winter and no tracking

Stance, BC, and Fortune Auto all come to mind and are right around that price range. ST is another option to look at.

cheap is cheap. will it work, sure. will the car ride rough. yeah. all they seize, and clunk, and eventually rust to all hell, yes.

there are plenty of 1k-1200 coils that are actually quality. there honestly is no reason to buy tawanese crap for these cars, NONE.

ST, RCE zero, KW v1, etc etc are just some brands to name a few.

I'd save an extra $100 and go with BC coilovers. It'll be the best inexpensive coilover you can find aside from maybe ST which you should add to your list as well if you want more comfort than anything else.

Someone should make a stick/poll with all the available coilovers. I was gonna create a thread asking as well, but there are a few that are still active. I'm thinking Bilstein, ST, FA 510. Can't seem to find a determining factor for one of the other, except ST is cheaper price wise. For mostly DD and some tracking, mainly getting it for drop and wider wheel fitment.

If you're gonna look at saving up an extra $100 and look at BC, might as well save up a little more and get Fortune Auto. I'd stick with 500s if you only plan on dropping it. The 510s are a little more track-oriented

Fortune Auto has better customer service and warranty!

$$$ to install

$$$ to align

and $$$ to replace them in 2-3 years (if you're lucky)

Psh... install yourself and save money! coilovers are quicker to install than springs. I even got the alignment to within a degree of where I wanted it, doing it myself, beforehand. But yes, I understand that not every one has the means to install parts themselves.

Good points and cheaper usually equates to non protective coatings etc accelerating that time to (less).

In the end if you're going to upgrade suspension it should be something you research well and save to get the best you can buy.

IMO of course.

KW V3's. You cheap out and you'll regret it. V3's are the most comfortable suspension and I'm dropped as low as I can go on 18X9.5 with very little wheel gap at all. Being able to adjust rebound made all the difference in the world.

Highly suggest saving up till you can afford something in the $1800-$2000 range regardless if you're just driving on the street while lowered. Do it right the first time.

To add to that, since I agree with everything you said, KW has a lifetime warranty on their coilovers as well!
